{StarPack} StarPack Den

This entire first post shall be OOC, and it is a constant work-in-progress.

Hope you guys don't mind if I go ahead and do this. I said I'd do it when we claimed the den IC, but I figured it'd be best to do it now when I'm not distracted.

This forest is StarPack territory, though all are free to wander in and out. This thread is the (future) site of the StarPack den. This thread will work a little differently than most, because den life never ends. Instead, this is the place where poleplay in the den itself will be performed, and the characters return and leave as they please. If you wish to temporarily leave this thread so you have an availability for a second thread, simply mark somehow that you've left. You need not mark when you've entered, because your posting here will have made that fact obvious. Everyone clear on that? Good.

So...we're all here to have fun. Let's keep it peaceful. Or not.

Silva relaxed on a rock outside of the Maple Forest Den, sleeping in the warm afternoon sun. It had been a couple days since starpack was formed, and the now liveable den was looking great. She wagged her tail happily. life was good.

((Thanks for posting. ^.^ I don't think it's spam, since it pertains to the thread. Yeah, this is my last post in here until one of my threads dies, as well.))

While Silva slept, Nerah was hard at work. Not because she felt she had to, but because she enjoyed her current task. She was busily digging away at a corner of the cave/burrow they had found. Her plan was to add another room deeper in the den, but she didn't know if she had quite that much energy. It could take several digging sessions. She would see her task done eventually, though. And then she would probably dig another room. And another. And another. And continuing until the den was a complex maze. Why not? It'd be fun!

Antares was sprawled happily relaxing outside of the den, life was good! The warm light filtered through the forest canopy, warming dappled spots of his black pelt. He could hear Nerah hard at work in the den, maybe he should help a bit.

Stretching sent energy though his muscles warming his body even more. He padded into the den back to where Nerah was slaving away. There was piles of dirt scattered throughout the area she had started digging in. The den was still very small, it wouldn't hold the four of them comfortably, adding an extra room was an excellent idea.

"Would you like any help?" Antares whispered, careful not to wake Silva.

Silva yawned, ears twitching as her eyes fluttered open. she opened them to see her two packmates. smiling happily at them, she got to her feet, stretching with a yawn. "Need any help? And why are we whispering?" she whispered, tail twitching eagerly. Her eyes fell on the hole that Nerah had begun to dig. Oh, was this a new room? This was going to be an amazing den! Silva couldn't help but give a little yip of delight and joy.

"I was hoping to not wake you up!" Antares sighed, but he was happy to see his friends awake. Everything was just going wonderful with the den, his friends, life, everything! Granted his life was still short. He smiled at Silva and padded by to give her a swift lick between the eyes.

"Good afternoon, the den is coming along wonderfully isn't it?" Antares chuckled and used his tail to sweep the dirt into one corner of the den. He started to dig at the mouth of the new room, but his paws weren't made to dig. He soon had dirt unbearably stuck between his claws.

"When we finish the room, we should put an opening at the end to let air in, so it won't get stale and uncomfortable" Antares pondered out loud, chewing the dirt from between his pads.

Silva grinned, licking Antares in return. She wagged her tail, happy, no, overjoyed, to be surrounded by friends. "It's okay, I was waking up anyway" she explained, "And yeah, it's getting amazing" looking around, she surveyed the den, nodding at Anatares's comment as she pondered what else could improve the den. "Okay, what if we make another entrance near the back, and disguise both ends with leaves. It provides an escape route in case of danger, no one will see it, and it will have more air~" she pondered, pacing back and forth "Maybe it could start a little that way, once this room in the den is a bit bigger. "She motioned to different parts of the den with her snout and her tail as she spoke

((I'm doing a retcon here and saying Nerah's evolved. XD))

The other female and the feline both offered to help, and Nerah wagged her tail. "If you want to,then sure! Don't feel like you have to, though." Their help would cut down the time spent on digging drastically, but her paws were s much bigger than theirs, and could probably move more dirt faster. When they evolved - if they did - they would have the same capabilities as her, but that was not the present.

And, honestly, she hoped they did evolve. Part of her liked the idea of being the giant guardian of the pack, and she hadn't seen any other canines or felines her size so far, so she felt more than capable of protecting them all, but it would be a comfort if they gained her size and abilities. She would need to learn just how her own growth was triggered so she could help them with theirs, if they wished.

Silva smiled at Nerah, guessing what she was thinking by the way she looked down on her paws [sorry if that's goddmodding, I'll change it ] "No worries, we'll evolve soon, hopefully" she said "Then we'll all be big fluffies~" that being said, she eyed the hole in the dirt rather apprehensively. Tensing her hind legs, she sprung into the hole, digging at fast as she could off to one side, making the hole a bit wider. "someone get the other side, and someone else get the topish" she called over her shoulder, digging happily. Hey, this was fun, once you got into the rhythm of it~
