as hershey padded through the forest, he was intent on one scent; the scent of his mothers, in more particular, his first mothers. the first one he had smelled was of his first mother; he knew, somehow, that her name was arya. it was a sweet scent, laced through with a certain spicy tang; this was the more prominent of the two scents, the one that hershey could track more easily than his other mother, nerah’s, more subdued scent. when hershey finally found some creature, he was tired from walking, his young body fatigued. yawning softly, hershey curled up at the feet of the black canine he saw, wanting a rest before he continued his quest for his mommys.

[[Can you have Arya reply instead of hershey? This can't really progress witohut her]]
Silva paused, flicking an ear at Elene "I appreciate your loyalty to Arya, pup, but pup's don't bother me much. Believe it or not, I like most of them. It's cute how you try, but please, mind your own business, you're making your precious Arya look like a coward who uses pups to fight her own battles. If I were you, I would stand down" She was about to take another step forward when a small brown and white husky canine toddled over and fell asleep at her feet. Random....
blinking in surprise, silva immediately crouched down over the pup, sniffing him slightly. A newly hatched pup? And in Cult land. This would be bad, if one of the leaders noticed him. Curling her body protectively around him, Silva eyed Arya "Hm. It seems I may stay here awhile longer. " her fur slowly began to raise. She had planned on leaving peacefully, but she was afraid that if she left, this intruder, and a male at that, would be killed. Silva was prepared to protect the little one with her life, if needed.
She lowered her head so it was hovering a little over his, eyes scanning the crown who had gathered to watch the spectacle. Her keen golden eyes scanned the area- would one of them attack. As she inhaled, a scent caught on her nose and she froze. Why did this pup smell so much like Nerah? Could this be....

arya had been quite distracted as silva began reprimanding elena about helping her (arya) to punish silva. she would have snapped, arya knew, if she had not been so distracted by that stumbling form; she had seen it once before, it was so familiar - yet she was afraid that this was not who she thought it would be. and then, when he stumbled over to silva, unable to go further, and she curled around him...it broke the femme's heart to see her little pup, protected by the female she despised. pushing towards, silva, towards her puppy, arya's eyes began to narrow again, as once again, she became angry. "move." she growled. "move away from my pup."

Silva's eyes widened, then, as her suspicions took hold, they narrowed "I don't care if he's your pup, he's Nerah's too, and I won't let you kill him just because he's an intruder. If you take one step closer, I'll get considerably more angry then I was before" she crouched over him. She had remembered Nerah's pride when she came home that one day, announcing that she had conceived a pup. If this was him, this....Hershey, Silva thought she heard Nerah mention, then he was as good as Silva's nephew, and she wouldn't let him be harmed by his own mother. One of them, anyway. " I don't care if you dislike males, he's a pup, don't you dare hurt him. You'll have to kill me before you harm a fur on his body" she snarled

"i will not kill my own son! the thought that you would even think it was conceivably possible makes me glad you're leaving this pack." this was the breaking point; the thought that this little idiot thought she would kill her own pup was absolutely despicable! she started forward, in the classic fighting position; head down, lips pulled up, ears against head, tails against body, and her shoulder rolled forward to protect her precious neck and spinal cord. as she stepped forward, she rammed her shoulder into silva's admittedly bulkier body, hoping to ram the black female out of the way so she could claim her pup again, claim her hershey. and then he'd be safe, protected by the leader of the most powerful group out there. he would be safe inside the cult.

Silva growled, crouching so she was practicality on top of the sleeping the form "that fact that you thought to kick me out because I spoek about my family makes it clear what your values are" she snarled "this pup goes to no one but Nerah, and I'll stake my own life on the fact" she spat. Gently licking the pup on top of the head before pushing him back so he was between her four paws, she crouched, facing Arya with legs spread, head lowered, ears pressed flat against her skull. After seeing the other leader, Apani, practically kill Kayalee, Silva could not, would not, risk the life of a precious young one. Tail sticking straight out behind her, she snarled "I will protect Nerah's pup even if it costs me my life."

Elena was admittedly a bit offended by the fact that Arya had said nothing in her defense against Silva, but now that Arya's son was here-between Silva's legs, in fact-she forced her focus away from her own petty hurt and onto the situation in front of her.
"Silva.", she said in the sort of patronizing tone that one usually reserves for someone who is either very young or very stupid, "Please, don't play a mislead hero, here. Arya is the pup's mother just as much as your darling Nerah is. Arya is not a savage, she would never hurt her own pup. Step aside, avoid this petty violence."

Silva flicked an ear at Elena "Remember what I just told you pup. Mind your own business, and don't' make Arya look bad. If she can't even fight for herself, sending in pups like to you argue for her, then she has lost any remaining respect I had for her. Just back out of this" her tone was rather patronizing, though not overly cold, as Silva couldn't really get mad at a pup. but young as this female was, she should know better then to interrupt a fight between two elders over something that didn't concern her. Silva's eyes never once wavered from Arya's face "If I were you, I'd quiet the pup you already have, then give me three good reasons that I an trust this little pup in your paws after I just saw a stranger nearly killed just for walking into our territory." she said, voice no longer angry but cold, defiant. Her tone towards Elena, however, was just the sort of tone one would use against a pup who believed it could fly. Forcefully patient, but ridiculing at the same time. It almost made Silva laugh to see a little pup attempting to speak down at her. But it wouldn't distract her from protecting the young one sleeping at her feet. She had smelled a lot like Nerah, as the two had lived together since they hatched, which is probably why he went towards her. And Silva was determined that he would live.

It felt like she had been gone for some time, though it couldn't have been very long. Her original intentions had been interrupted by the desire to check on the pod that held her offspring, and when she had done so, she saw that the pod was empty. A scent trail had led her from the orchard back to here, and - for the first time ever - she beheld her son.
He was beautiful. She knew he would be. She would have found him beautiful regardless of what he looked like simply because he was hers. There was something a little...off about him, but it was to be expected. The pod hadn't been the healthiest on the tree. It confirmed her suspicions that they had been too young to produce healthy offspring. That wasn't important, though. What was important was that he had survived.
It was then that it occurred to her she should go meet the pup, and she stepped forward, smiling at the newborn. "Hello, my son. Welcome to life."

eyes peering upward, hershey found himself uncomfortably wedged between the feet of the black female he had collapsed near; he didn't want to be protected by her. with malicious intent, the male chomped down on the black female's paw, before worming his way out from between her legs, big eyes looking up at the female that was near tears, demanding that the black one give him to her. and then there was the new canine, the one who had welcomed him as her son; so these were his mommies. he wasn't sure which one to go to first; they both were his, and he was there’s. hershey looked back at the black one, wondering if she had power over him, if he had to ask permission to go to them.

Silva turned, immediately relaxing. She held her guard stance over the sleeping Hershey, motioning Nerah over with a tail "thank goodness, Nerah. I don't know what they're planning to do with him, but after what they did to Kayalee, I don't trust them with him. You have to get him to safety." gently, she nudged the little one "Little one? hershey? your mommy is here" she murmured softly into his ear, darting a challenging glare at anyone else who tried to approach
she yelped in pain as he suddenly woke up with an angry yowl, biting her feet. In tears, the little one ran out from her paws hovering uncertainly in the middle of the group. On the ground now, the bite the little one had given her was strong enough to cripple her, she managed to gasp out to Hershey "Go to Nerah....the brown one.....you'll be...safe there"

The pup looked confused. Poor thing. Nerah's paws carried her over to him without her being conscious of walking, and she lovingly nuzzled her son. "I've been so worried...I'm happy to see you alive and able to travel this far. You're okay, and you're going to stay that way. You have no idea how relieved I am." There was so much to say, and no words with which to say it. She wasn't quite sure she knew how to be a parent, but she would learn. It couldn't be all that different from looking out for a packmate. She would just have to be more protective of this particular packmate than the others, who could look after themselves as well as she could.
((Sorry. XD She kinda had tunnel vision there))

“hershey,” arya murmured to her son as he showed his inner strength, biting silva to get out of her cage-like paws. “nerah, there’s been a situation. silva has decided to leave the cult due to my request for her to not mention other affiliations, and has refused to let me so much as touch our son. do you agree with me, that this is unfair, simply because she is looking out for her own interests? you know i would never hurt him…” as arya made her appeal to nerah, she moved towards hershey, onyx eyes hopeful; would her final obstacle be out of the way? would she finally be able to speak with her son, to talk to him for the first time in her life, without silva getting in the way?

Silva struggled to her feet, blocking Arya "Wait until Nerah says its okay" she growled through clenched teeth, eyes burning hatred for Arya "And how dare you state it that way, without giving all the details." she said, practically snarling. Her paw still hurt, and it was bleeding a lot, but Silva ignored it. Eh. It would heal soon, anyhoo. Resting most of her weight on her front right paw instead of her injured left one, she lowered her head, teeth raising slightly. "Why don't you tell the full truth" her golden eyes seemed to shine slightly in the light. "What Is aid before stands. You'll have to kill me before you harm a hair on that pup's head"

At last, Nerah looked up, finally noticing the others. She cast an apologetic look to Silva, but hoped the shadowy canine understood. This was her child. Her first child, at that. And she was meeting him for the first time. It was a moment she had been looking forward to since she and Arya slept in the orchard together.
Someone stepped forward, and Nerah's instinct was to protect the pup before her brain registered who was approaching. She forced her paws to be still and her fur to lie flat, though she kept her gaze focused on Arya. It was...a little awkward for the honey-hued canine, but she recognized Arya's right to be near the child. It was a right the two of them shared, even if they wouldn't be sharing in life together anymore.
Silva blocked Arya. Nerah was grateful for the gesture, but she shook her head. "It's all right, Silva. She has as much a right to the pup as I do."
But Arya had spoke, and Nerah knew she must reply. With a sigh, she said, "Silva never puts herself before others. I don't know the situation, but if that was what it seemed then there has been a misunderstanding." She looked around at Silva, Arya, and Elena. "I won't say anything more on the subject. I refuse to let fighting be Hershey's first memory of us, even if we can't be the happy family I had wanted for him." She looked between Arya and Elena. "He is your son as much as mine, but I wonder about his safety in an anti-male army."
