Nerah was uneasy as she watched Whisper being led into the cave. She worried for the young canine and hoped she'd come out all right...or alive. Yeah...if Whisper was killed, it didn't matter if Silva stayed with the Cult or not. Nerah would be leaving. That was just something she was unwilling to put up with. Besides, Silva would probably leave right along with her.
Nerah leaned against her friend, worried for her as well as the pup. Whisper was her friend, so whatever Nerah might be feeling, Silva was likely feeling with much more intensity. Nerah took a deep breath. The anxiety was maddening.
"It's all right. She'll be okay. She has to be, right?" Nerah hoped she sounded convincing.

((Apani is ignoring you because she is an evil maniac-slash-ice queen, so yes, you can roleplay being very offended at being ignored if you would like. She's mainly concerned with being a territorial Cult-crazy co-leader at the minute. Sorry. D:))

Whisper sat quietly as Apani began speaking. She even sat quietly while she was accused. Her eyes, however, showed the flashing of anger behind them. She did not speak, but the longer that Apani kept talking, a low snarl began to escape her throat. By the time that Apani had completed her little spiel, Whisper's mane had fluffed out to its full size, as had her tail. Her long, ivory teeth were exposed in a sneer of wrath. Whisper was a patient girl. She could tolerate many things, including insults and slander. However, she was no liar, and refused to be treated as such. She then began her portion of the..."story".
"You have no idea of the lack of logic in what you are asking of me. I came here for water, and found a community, a community that has chosen me and I have chosen it. In doing so, I have devoted my life and passion to the cause of this organization. And you wish to call me a liar? Think about what you are saying, and accusing me of. There is no logic to your accusation. If I am as naive as you say, I would not have been able to plot such a grand plan. If I am as dastardly as you claim, why not just dispose of me when you had the chance? If I were involved in a grand-scheme, would I really just sit idly by and allow my "partner in crime" to be slaughtered, without a hint of emotion or aid? -And-...if I were to simply let a partner die, what would that speak of my character? Of my devotion or of my skill? Would you honestly allow someone into your group who allows their companions to die without a fight?"
Whisper's voice was calm, but trembling with anger. She was also a logical beast, and had discovered every flaw in Apani's accusation. Being called a liar was not something Whisper could stomach easily, and it was showing by her controlled rage. She remained seated, however, keeping her eyes locked on Apani. If the leader was as clever as she seemed, she would be able to notice that Whisper was not lying.
She inhaled sharply, closing her eyes, attempting to calm her rage. She knew that there was probably a severe beating, or worse in store for her for her little outburst, but she could not simply stand accused of a crime she did not commit.
"I have already stated that I respect and fear you. That is, obviously your goal, is it not? You have accomplished it. However, I am not capable of commiting the crime you have accused me of. I do not, and will not lie. I will fight, I will hunt, I will clean up your dead from the battlefield, but I do not lie. If you should have me expelled for not telling you what you want to hear, so be it. I would desire to grow in this place, to become something greater, to aid you in achieving your goal and to aid myself in personal growth. I cannot, however, achieve either of these goals without your blessing, or with your doubt. I came here for water, and found a community. I found my water, and I found my community. Now, I risk losing my life, and my community through it, by your accusations. My life and community, you have the right to take away from me, even if I am innocent. But even you cannot take away my honor."
She turned her head away from Apani, intelligence and pride glistening in her eyes, alongside a fearful tear.

Silva smiled appreciatively as she leaned against Nerah in return, watching towards the cave. Though Apani's ignoring of her offended her slightly, is wasn't much of a surprise, and Silva was just going to let it pass. But either way, she couldn't let Whisper be hurt. If she heard signs of a scuffle or a fight, Silva made up her mind. She didn't like fighting, but she would run in and defend Whisper, even if it meant attacking Apani and leaving the Cult. Silva shivered slightly. She flexed her claws slightly, wondering briefly how you were supposed to attack someone. Was it like hunting? Silva hoped not. Hunting was so easy, and fighting seemed like anything but....
She turned to Nerah, voicing her plans in an undertone "If I hear a fight, I'm helping Whisper. She's just a pup, she won't be able to defend herself"

The two canines watched and waited, hoping for Whisper's well-being. It was hard to sit there and not know what was going on. She hated simply waiting. Part of her tried to reassure the rest of her that nothing bad would happen. It didn't work. Not after that scene a few moments ago. She secretly hoped that cat was all right...
Silva flexed her claws, and Nerah's gaze shifted to her friend. She seemed as uneasy as Nerah guessed she might be. The shadowy canine then spoke, and Nerah listened.
"Not without me, you're not," she spoke just as quietly. "I hope it doesn't come to that. If it does, we'll get her out together and find a place to hide for a while." What else could they do?

Silva darted a glance at her friend, glad to hear that they would both be leaving together, if it came to that, and that Nerah was so willing to help her. "We still don't know if anything will happen though" she reasoned "But after that display, it's best to be on alert. Maybe we should get closer to the den, check up on them?" though Silva didn't want to be caught evesdropping, she much preffered it to the alternative of not being able to get there in time if a fight broke out. Plus, she could just invent some excuse. Silva hadn't been assigned a mission yet. Yes, that could be it. If they were caught, Silva would say that she and Nerah were looking for a mission to do. Meanwhile, her friend had spoken again and Silva nodded "We can hide out in our own den. Apani seems very strict about this 'territory' thing. so I doubt she would cross into ours, if we say she can't. Uh...so the forest would be our territory, right then?" Silva considered. It wasn't too far a run from the river to the forest, but it would require the three of them to be quick on their feet.

Silva darted a glance at her, and Nerah smiled. Of course she would help her packmate. They were best friends and family, and - if it came to it - Nerah would die for her. She hoped it didn't come to that, though.
Nerah nodded as Silva spoke. "Agreed." They were very new, so maybe they could get away with it. She hoped so. She would only try to fight if she had to. Hopefully, if it came down to it, she could figure out how. They had learned how to hunt the same way, so why not?
Silva spoke again and glanced toward the woods. "That would be best. We could lose any pursuers among the trees." She liked to believe they knew their way around the forest pretty well. At least well enough not to get lost.

Silva nodded at her friend "Okay then. It's settled" and began casually sauntering towards the den, ears pricked, trying to look as innocent as possible. Slowly walking towards the den. As she got closer, she heard Apani's voice, sounding angry, and Whisper reply, her reply long and sounding determined. Another speech? The pup better watch herself, if she doesn't want to provoke the leader anymore[i/] Silva thought briefly to herself. She crept even closer, trying not to look as if her ears were pricked forward. If she pretended she was looking up at the sky, then no one would notice the angle of her ears, right? but then she wouldn't be able to watch where she was going...
Er, maybe she was over thinking this. If you looked guilty, you probably were guilty. Silva immediately straightened her shoulder and walked purposeful towards the den , as if she had all the rights in the world to do so. She darted a glance back at Nerah to follow her lead

Silva went toward the den, and Nerah followed. Noticing her friend's expression, she tried to mimic it. Yes, good call. They had to look like they weren't doing anything wrong...even if it made them look like idiots. Life was more important than dignity.
Voices sounded from within the den: first Apani's and then Whisper's...and goodness! Nerah thought she herself was long-winded but Whisper had a true talent for talking. It wasn't a bad thing, but it did amuse her.
Silva continued to approach and Nerah kept right behind her. She tilted her head to the side as her friend seemed to change her stance, but then shrugged to herself when Silva looked back at her and went along with it.
I really hope we know what we're doing...

Silva was now inches away from the den, right behind a rock so she was -hopefully- out of view. She paused her movement in midstep,so it looked like she was just about the enter the den if someone glanced over at her. Of course, if they kept on looking, they would have been pretty confused, but who would look at her? Silva was the second member of the cult, and pretty well known. she glanced over at Nerah, checking to see how the female was doing. She seemed alright. Silva angled her ears forward, straining to hear the light barrage of sound coming from the inside. Whisper was still making her speech. What a long winded pup. Silva would have smiled, if she wasn't so nervous.
(We better stop posting now until Apani or someone replies, or this rp will go nowhere XD)

They continued to approach the entrance of the den until they were practically inside it. Well, not quite, but that was how it felt. Nerah was nervous and trying hard not to let it show as Silva stopped behind a rock. Nerah stopped behind and a bit beside her, trying to look like she belonged there. All sorts of scenarios played through in her mind. None of them good. Hopefully, Whisper would be fine and Silva and Nerah would go unnoticed.
Silva looked back at her, and Nerah nodded to her friend. As much as she'd prefer to avoid a fight or a flight from the territory, she knew it'd be good to prepare herself. Her muscles tensed, but only slightly, looking more like she was about to move than that she was about to fight or run.
((Gotcha. We can't do anything now anyway))
