Green.
Lots of green.
Lots of green and brown and blue and all manner of bright, pretty colors.
These were the things witnessed by Nerah as she opened her eyes for the very first time. Her tail wagged, seemingly of its own accord, as she gazed around. Her surroundings were beautiful. Life was beautiful. And the smells! Sweet and tangy and earthy and distracting, each competing with the others for her attention.
The young canine climbed ot her feet after a couple failed attempts and leapt as far as she could...which wasn't very far. Her landing was clumsy, and she fell onto her side. That didn't matter. She got up once. She could do it again.
And so she did. Her tail never stopped wagging, but it wagged harder now. She noticed more smells. Strange ones. She wanted to explore and find the source of each and every one. Picking a scent at random, she walked clumsily in the direction it indicated.

When his eyes flitted open for the first time, Yamir saw the green, smelt the smells, saw the sights, and that was all great and dandy. But as he stumbled to feet, the shaky exultation of new experiences gone, another feeling twanged low in his belly. He really was rather hungry. The kind of hungry that rattles your insides and churns your stomach until you get something good in there. Well, he was going to have to fix that, and very soon. Giving a great shake, his fur settling in an awkward, messy pattern he began walking.
Walking. He wasn't too great at it. It wasn't one of his many talents yet. He tripped, and skidded, and fumbled for footing as his senses awakened and set him on an unfamiliar (however, obviously, everything was unfamiliar at this point) path towards an interesting scent. Food would be sublime, really, but at this point he would be fairly happy finding anything at all. There was all this green, all these useless, mucky plants that tangled around his already silly footwork. There were rocks basked in sunlight that just sat there and watched him struggle.
It was all very still, so pristine. He felt as if he were to just reach out and touch his nose to a small pool of crystalline water, it would shatter and the imagery would become much less appealing. But that didn't happen, and all he got was a very wet nose.
Yes indeed, what he really needed was... what was that? A shiver of moment that was not his own, and close. He watched, ears pricking with an insatiable curiosity.

Antares squinted in the sudden burst of light entering his freshly opened eyes. Colors swirled as his vision stabilized to reveal a beautiful orchard filled with glorious trees and softly rolling hills. Rolling over unexpectedly his small jet black paws touched the soft grass for the first time. The texture was strange, almost indescribable to his unfamiliar mind.
Finally getting the courage to move he placed his paws clumsily under him and stood. He raised only a single paw before crashing back down, this could take a while. After a few misfired attempted Antares made it more than a few feet, still tripping over his own paws with each step.
After many painful head first rolls down a tiny incline, it seemed like he was on tip of the world. He could see a small pond at the very bottom of the slope with a strange figure leaning over it. It was already too late to walk back, he lost his footing and went tumbling down the hill.

She had by now, mastered the skill of walking, almost. It involved moving your paws, and falling only hindered your progress. That much, she knew for sure. Lifting her nose to scent the air, she gave a short bark of excitement as smells filled her nose again. Others. Other living beings, just her age. Stumbling a little, she walked towards the smells confidently.
She is Silva, She is so dark in coloration, she resembles a silhouette or a shadow. Even her nose and pads are black, only lightly glossed. This female has a very clean, sleek pelt, and closely cropped fur in comparison to others. She is strong, yet could be considered petite, even the length of her tail seeming to lack.
As she reached the others, her eyes widened to see so many others like herself. Her black tail began to wag, and she let out a bark of joy, one of the first noises she had ever made.

The scent led to more scents, each more tantalizing than the last. She could go after them, but if she did then she wouldn't know where this particular scent led or what was making it. She could satisfy tat curiosity and then go back and try another trail, and another, and another, and so on until she had explored everything in the area, and then...what if there was a world beyond what she could see? Ooh...she hoped so. She wanted to go beyond, as far as her feet could take her. She would travel all over everything if she had the time. It would be glorious. Just like existing.
Nerah's gait wasn't graceful. She couldn't even really call it a gait. More like a disoriented stumble. Her legs were slowly learning what they were supposed to do and how they were supposed to do it, and every few steps found them supporting her just a little better. Her nose continued to work, and she noticed sounds as well as smells and sights, and the feel of the ground and plants underneath her paws. It was soft. Comfortable to walk on. Maybe to lay on. She didn't feel like sleeping now, though. She had a world to explore.
The smell took her to the edge of a downward slope, at the bottom of which lay a pond. Had that been the source of the scent? Or maybe that being beside it? She could find out!
But then she noticed movement on the hill and saw someone tumbling down. She let out a startled bark and whined, her tail ceasing its wagging for the first time as she watched the creature fall. She glanced around the slope, finding an area that didn't look too dangerous and stumbling down. She had to get to the bottom and check out the creature when she reached it to make sure it was okay. Then she could meet the first creature she had spotted and make two friends all at once! Hopefully. If the tumbling creature was okay.
She heard a bark and turned to see yet another creature. One that looked much like herself. It even smelled similar. She barked in response and wagged her tail a couple times, and then gestured to the tumbling creature, letting out another whine. There were three here that weren't falling. Maybe one of them could figure out how to help.

Silva stumbled over to the canine who's tail wouldn't stop wagging, plowing forward until she almost crashed into the female, legs not knowing exactly how to stop yet. She succeeded in not crashing by tripping and falling at the paws of the stranger, eyes blinking curiously up at her. Her extremely dark fur gave her the appearance of a shadow. A shadow with a wagging tail, that is.
Carefully, she stared at this other canine that was so like her, yer so different. This stranger had dappled brown fur and amber eyes, so unlike the black fur and yellow eyes that she had. Struggling to her feet, Silva happily nosed the other in greeting

Antares not so gently rolled to a stop, vertigo clouding his vision. Shaking his head a bit to try to get his bearings didn't work very well. Head spinning he looked up at the top of the incline that he rolled down. There seemed to me two moving figures at the top.
After focusing his vision for a few moments he could clearly make out two larger creatures. One brown, and one jet black, like him. As his vision cleared his motor skills did as well. Fumbling to his feet Antares clawed his way back up the hill as the others greeted each other.

Silva turned her head in delight as she saw the other creature, a male feline, his coat almost as dark as her own, though not quite so. His fur and whispers were long and soft looking, and his hind legs seemed to bristle with an unusual strength. Turning from the other creature, she walked over, sniffing him in a friendly way, wagging her tail to show how happy she was to see so many other creatures. Happily, Silva barked with joy, the yips bubbling to her throat as if she had been doing it since she was a pod. Wagging her tail even harder, she sniffed the air, the scent of the strangers filling her nose. So many new people. So much to do, to explore. She couldn't wait

The other female canine nearly crashed into Nerah, but instead fell in front of her. Nerah stared at her, head tilted to the side as she waited to see if she was all right. She seemed to be. At least, she wasn't alarmed. Instead, she was staring back, and her tail was wagging.
Yep. She was okay.
The female canine got up and nosed her, and Nerah returned the gesture, letting out a happy bark. Yes! Friend! Friends were good! Friends were very good.
Meanwhile, the tumbling creature stopped. Nerah's attention returned to him and she watched as he got up. He got to his feet and headed back up the hill. Nerah barked happily. He was all right! Also good. Everything was good.
The black female canine seemed just as happy as she was about this development. Nerah barked playfully at her, and then at the creature near the water, inviting him to join them. She then focused on the other female and lowered her front end, tail wagging and tongue lolling out the side of her mouth. In her mind, it was playtime!

Antares looked up uneasy of the creatures intentions at first. Ears folded flat to his head he opened his mouth to take in the smell of the strange black canine, it was far different than of his own, a warm pungent scent. The canine's loud barks and yelps stung at his sensitive hears, causing him to fold them back more to possibly block out the noise. The ecstatic waving on it's tail signaled to him that it wasn't there to hurt him.
Digging his claws into the grass to pull himself to his feet, Antares stumbled a bit. Nearly landing him at the bottom of the hill once more. Intrigued by both of the creatures before him, he tumbled forward and greeted them both with a friendly wave of his tail.

Silva yipped happily as the female returned the nose of greeting. A friend? Whoopee! she turned to the male when Nerah did, giving a bark of greeting, before turning back to the female.
As the female lowered her front paws, Silva blinked in delight. Was the female offering to play? She was! With a joyful yip, she leaped onto the dappled female, trying to flip her over on her back, all the while yipping joyfully. She gave a mock growl, tail wagging so hard she thought it might fall off.

The male at the top of the hill seemed uneasy. Had Nerah been too overbearing? She was excited, but she supposed it could look intimidating. Compared to her, he looked rather small and delicate, as all felines might look to her when she came across them. Her own frame was sturdy and almost masculine, and that would likely have contributed to any scariness. Still...she wasn't trying to initmidate, and she simply couldn't stop herself. Thankfully, he seemed to overcome whatever was bothering him and had joined them. Excellent! Now if only the other male would join them, too.
Her thoughts were interrupted with a sudden weight on her front. Next thing she knew, she as on her back. She blinked up at the other female as it dawned on her what had happened and let out a mock-whine before licking the black canine's nose. What fun this was!

Silva gave another yip of greeting to the male as he walked over to joining them, blinking in surprise as the female who'se belly she now stood on reached up to lick her nose. Giving a giggle-like bark, she backed off the female, almost falling on her behind as she strained to look at both the male and female at once.
A sudden urge overcame her, an urge to make a different sort of noise. Concentrating moving her tongue a bit in an odd way, she attempted speaking, not really sure where this knowledge of language or speaking came from. Perhaps the same way she knew her own name? "H-Hello" the word sounded strange on her tongue. she giggled, trying it out again "Hello. Hello!" yipping, she ran around the two in a happy circle "Hellohellohello"

((This is so cute. XD))
The shadowy canine seemed to laugh and backed off. Nerah watched her, and then rolled onto her belly and stood. It was an awkward process she had yet to master, but she would get there in time. She wasn't worried. The other creatures were struggling with their own movements, and that told her that the clumsiness was a natural part of life right now. They were all in this life together, learning how to move and the way their strange world worked. Her tail wagged as the thought crossed her mind. Together...she liked that concept. She liked being around the other creatures. It felt right and natural, just like their surroundings.
The other female then made a strange sound. One that Nerah knew was a greeting, though she didn't know how she knew. She listened, ears perked, as the word was repeated. Something inside her drove her to attempt to make the sound too.
"Heh..hehl...hello..." After a couple attempts, she thought she mastered it. She let out an excited yip. "Hello!"

[[YES XD I'm loving this so much ^^]]
Silva gave a bark of delight as the other creature, the female, responded. now that she had spoken the words several times, and the female had spoken as well, knowledge flooded into Silva's mind. Knowledge of words. That thing over there was a tree, that was called the sky, and the comfortable softness at her paws was called grass. These words suddenly came with the ability to speak. Silva was sure of it. if she moved her tongue and mouth in different ways, she could make noises that sounded like the words!
Friends. That word also popped into her head. She had friends. Silva wagged her tail. Having friends was fun, and a good way to learn things.
She decided to try to try to make sounds that sounded like words again. Turning to the female, she opened her mouth in another attempt "M-my nayum. My name. Silva. My name Silva" she wagged her tail, proud at her accomplishment.
