ROLL UP, ROLL UP because cult events are about to get FUN. Welcome to the Cult Carnival, a chance for you to have Cult-based fun on AFW! This event is exclusive to our members, and will go on for the next two weeks. In this time, you can enjoy fun carnival games and roleplay with Cult members. That's right, this carnival will take place in character - more about that later! (: As for now, let's get on to the activities.
GAMES PETAL THROW -- run by arya There are four circles of petals, spaced a little away from each other. These petal circles are red, blue, orange and white in colour. To play, you put 2 EXP down on your tab (see "HOW TO PAY" section), and in return, you get three stones to throw. If your pebble lands in the red petal circle, you will get nothing. If your pebble lands in the blue circle, you will get 1 Cult point. If your pebble lands in the orange circle, you will get 5 Cult points. If your pebble lands in the white circle, you will get 10 Cult points. Where your pebble lands will be determined by a random number generator.
HIDDEN LEAF -- run by apani There is one leaf, and six rocks. A random number generator will decide which rock is used to hide the leaf, with each rock being labelled one to six. To play, you put 1 EXP down on your tab (see "HOW TO PAY" section), and you can pick one of the rocks where you think the leaf might be hidden. If you pick the right rock, you will get 5 EXP; if you pick the wrong rock, you will be paid nothing.
LOTTERY -- run by arya There are 20 different colours (see "LOTTERY COLOURS" section) to choose from; each person may choose six of those colours, and put 1 EXP down on their tab to play. A random generator will decide which six of the colours are the winning ones. If you get one colour right, you get nothing. If you get two colours right, you get two Cult points. If you get three colours right, you get four Cult points. If you get four colours right, you get eight Cult points. If you get five colours right, you get 5 EXP. If you get all six colours right, you get 10 EXP.
BUG RACING -- run by apani There are five little bugs on a track, drawn out in the sand by Apani. Each of the bugs has a number and a name (see "BUG NAMES" section). You can place any amount of EXP on a bug as a bet to play - from 1 EXP to 100 EXP. When the race starts, a random number generator will be used to see how far each bug gets; the bug with the highest score from the generator wins, and anyone who placed a bet on it gets their money back, plus 5 Cult points. Whatever number a bug got from the generator, the person/people who bet on it will get that number of Cult points, regardless of their initial bet or position in the race.
lottery colours Red, green, yellow, blue, orange, pink, grey, black, white, scarlet, beige, brown, teal, navy, purple, turquoise, gold, amber, cream, silver.
bug names 01 - Mr Legs. 02 - Spookster. 03 - Spidey. 04 - The Crawler. 05 - Speedy McGee. 06 - Old Grandpa Caterpillar.
HOW TO PAY. With these things, you don't want to be running back and forth between the staff and the event, making them exchange 2 EXP from you to the Cult every 5 minutes. For this two-week event, we have set up a post in the Cult thread in the Plotting board - it shall be titled "expenses", and should be relatively easy to find. There, we shall keep a record of every member taking part, and whatever games they play, we will add their expenses to the post - e.g. if you win, we will note down that we need to give you a certain amount of EXP. Just make sure that, when you're writing out your posts, you state clearly what game your character is playing; that way, we can keep a clear tally of what you are spending, and what you win. After the two weeks are over, you can pay off your debts - we will organise the passing of EXP from your account to the Cult Donations account. We will NOT request withdrawal of EXP from your account without your permission; however, if you refuse to pay your expenses from this event before the end of September, we will be forced to extract your EXP by force.
IN CHARACTER GAMES. This entire event will be in-character - those who post out of character in any way during the entire event will find themselves disqualified from the entire event, excluding the occasional OOC note in brackets at the end of your roleplay post. Immediately after this post will be an in-character piece of writing from Apani, the co-leader of the Cult, introducing this event to all the Cult characters. If you wish to play a game, you state loudly and clearly, "I would like to play [insert game here], please!", or something to that effect. You don't have to approach whoever is running the game, because Alehue and myself will read through any posts made in this thread and go through with our games accordingly, without either of our characters having to be mentioned. Only Alehue and myself can post out of character, but we shall try our hardest to stay in-character for the whole event, including when announcing the winners of games. Any game you play that costs money to play will be listed in our expenses post (see "HOW TO PAY" section).
Well, thanks for reading all of that - and ENJOY, my Cult friends! This is your Carnival, so let your characters relax, have fun and play games! (:

"Attention please!"
The female was confident that her voice would carry across the River Garden; it wasn't a large area, and the other Cult base was quite close to where she was standing, in a rather marshy clearing. Everything for the event had been set up now - rocks in place, leaves hidden, bugs captured - so it was time to let the Cult members in. She had been putting the finishing touches to her display since dawn; when Arya came along, they could man the stalls, and the event should go like clockwork. This was a treat they had put down for their members; in her opinion, it was a rather fabulous thing to take part in.
"Attention all Cult members," she called out, her voice loud and clear. "Please come to this clearing for the Cult Carnival! Games to play and fun to be had!" She figured this was enough of a warning; now, they'd just have to come along to see what all of the noise was about. "Come to the clearing - you won't be disappointed!"

A carnival? Elena wasn't sure what that was, but regardless it sounded silly to her. But if Apani called, she would come. She didn't want to be fading into the background of the cult anymore than she already did. Sometimes she felt like a ghost, speaking but not heard. Ah well, perhaps if she played carnival games she would be noticed.
Elena slunk into Apani's view, eyes casting around intently. "Hello, Apani." she said in her typical formal fashion, "I daresay I have never played in a--what is it called again?--Oh yes, a carnival before. This will certainly be interesting. Who's idea was this, yours or Arya's?"

As soon as Whisper heard the call, she was on her feet and running. Then again, the time was rare that she didn't run, but this was a special occasion. Games and fun? Whisper was already a stickler for games, but fun games just sweetened the deal. Yes, she was quite excited for whatever lay in waiting in the clearing.
Whisper's thudding footsteps slowed to a crawl, and her mouth gaped open as she viewed the clearing. Her fur was practically tingling with excitement.
"Apani...this is gorgeous!" she said in a voice that was filled to the brim with excitement. Already, she was going over to different booths and sniffing them out, her tail wagging back and forth in a contented, excited manner. After her initial investigation, the happy-looking girl plodded over to where Elena and Apani stood. She dipped her head respectfully to Elena, then turned to Apani.
"You've really outdone yourself!" she quipped, one ear lopping over to the side as it typically did when she was relaxed or content. Her tail continued batting back and forth, her fur bristled with joy. Yes, she had practically boofed all of her fur into a fluffy, silky mane, and her ecstacy was evident. She was ready to get started, but first, she would talk to Apani for a moment. Whisper desperately hoped that the sandy-feline was in better spirits than their first meeting, and Whisper was still determined to impress her so she could climb the ranks, in typical, Whisper-fashion.

Arya, along with Apani, had stayed up into the wee hours of the night in order to get everything in the carnival in order, so naturally, when Apani got all the praise for it, just because she had announced the carnival, Arya was rather grumpy. Still, she stood proudly by Apani’s side as the members began to arrive; she was hopeful that soon enough someone would notice and acknowledge her. Plus, the canine was sure that these days of fun and friendship would pull the Cult together even more than they already were. Nerah and Silva, who were also member of StarPack (they had now left the Cult), said that their pack was like a family, and Arya felt that The Cult was no different, and this would prove it.

Fennel stared intensely at the female canine making an announcement about something or the other. That must be Apani, he thought. He'd heard the rumors about Apani. How she had attacked some other canine, and how she was supposedly quite prejudiced against males. Quite honestly, he was scared of Apani, even though he knew next to nothing about her.
Her words were quite intriguing, though. She talked about a Cult Carnival, and games and fun to be had. Fennel didn't know what a carnival was, but he was all for having fun. He padded slowly to the clearing to see what all the fuss was about.
This was a mistake were his first thoughts as he entered. Who are all these others? I've never seen them before. Why haven't I ever seen them before? Fennel noticed a female feline and two female canines, but he was unable to identify them. Not for the first time, he doubted his decision to join the Cult and wondered if it was possible to leave.
Fennel wandered around the carnival site, admiring the scenery, when he stopped next to a chocolate colored female canine. She looked friendly enough, and it couldn't hurt to make acquaintances if he was going to be stuck in the Cult for a long time.
"H-hi there," he said, awkwardly greeting the other canine. "Err ... I'm Fennel. I'm new here. Nice to meet you."
----------
OOC: Aww, my poor awkward baby Fennel. <3 Btw, the "chocolate colored canine" he's referencing is Whisper. ^^

Elena felt a rush of sympathy for Fennel; this rather doltish but sweet looking canine had just wandered into a cult that was against his very gender, and he presumably didn't know it. She padded over to him and muttered from the corner of her mouth, "You know, Fennel, you might just be in the wrong place. As jolly as this little get together looks, the premise of the group isn't exactly...inclusive. I wouldn't want you to get hurt..." she flicked her gaze back at the array of admittedly fun looking games set up in the field. "Although, this does look rather fun, doesn't it?"
