Out of the Orchard

Kurian walked out of the orchard, relieved to be away from the place where so many others had been before and possibly were still now. Some of them anyway...But on seeing his new environment his heart sunk...there was nowhere to hide...no where at all.. it was a wide open plain. He glanced back at the trees missing their shade and the hiding spots he found there already and found himself wondering what might lie on the other side of the Orchard. He shook his head a little, no sense in going back. He had to go forward and face this world, and perhaps others in it. 

It wasn't that he didn't want to meet others, like him or not, but he wanted to meet others on his on terms, in a place he felt comfortable and safe somewhere he knew and knew well, hopefully somewhere his colors blended in...somewhere he knew he could outrun the older faster stronger residents of this world if he needed to. He sighed and moved slowly out into the plain, away from the towering trees that had given him life. 

He had been walking for some time since he'd found himself in the orchard and he realized after looking around that he was quite hungry, but...what was there to eat? He didn't know, and certainly he hadn't thought of it until now and as such had not been looking. He looked now though, continuing in the same direction as before, perhaps he would come upon something edible in the plains. Out here with nowhere to hide he felt watched, as though because he could see everything others could see him but he tried to walk as if there was no one else, there was after all no evidence to the contrary...he was just being nervous.

The first thing Genesis did after exploring the Orchard was to explore some more...outside the Orchard. Her slender form moved easily along the way, and her pace was light and graceful. Her dusky pelt was nice and tidy, reflecting her personality of being an orderly femmora. Her coat blended nicely to her surroundings, but it was her eyes that gave her away. They were of a dark peach hue, almost orange. It was an eerie color, sure, but it was special, wasn't it? That was probably the only thing that set her apart from the rest of those brown-pelted canines.


She decided that she was going to try socializing. After all, it was impossible for one to go about the world alone and unattached the whole way. Her keen eye spotted another feline, alone and as scared as she was. Only, it was a male. For a moment there, she hesitated, wondering if it was a good idea. However, on second thought, what could she lose? Summoning up her courage, she made her way towards the other, her steps slow but sure.


"H-Hello," she greeted him softly, shyly, "Do you know what this place is called? I'm...I'm new here."

Kurian Jumped hearing another behind him and spun back arched to make himself look bigger as he eyed the canine. Slowly, he relaxed watching her the fur on his back flattening. "This place? No...I didn't know it had a name." He said ear twitching. "Uh I'm Kurian though..What's your name?" he asked fidgeting a little nervous in meeting someone in this open place. His stomach made a sound and his ears perked up in embarrassment. "Sorry, I..I haven't eaten yet. Have you?"

Genesis could not help but shrink a little as she waited nervously for the other's reply. Would it be favorable or not? She could only hope...

"This place? No...I didn't know it had a name."

"O-Okay. S-Sorry for bothering y-you..." The canine bowed her head and started to back away, until the next words stopped her. The feline male was introducing himself. She only hesitated for a heartbeat before answering. "Genesis. My name is Genesis. Kurian, you say?" She paused, thinking of the name and etching it mentally into her mind. "Kurian." She rolled the name over her tongue. It had a pleasant sound to it. "Nice name. Do you know if it means anything?"

At the sound of the other's hunger, Genesis felt a smile creep up to her face. "S-Sorry," she stammered, face flushed. "I'm not laughing at you...not really..." She forced herself to keep a straight face. "I'm hungry, too. Do you know anything that's good to eat around here?"

Kurian watched the female begin to back down, and it eased him somewhat. She wasn't dangerous..He didn't need to fear her. He almost missed the slight babbling in his relief. "I'm sorry..means something?" He tried to think and came up blank. "No..I...I'm not sure even how i know that Kurian means me. Genesis." He nodded thoughtfully "That sounds like a fine name."

He blinked ear twitching a she began to grin at him, but somehow it didn't embarrass him this time. "I haven't tried anything...Have you?" He asked, head tilting as he eyed the plains seeking food. Something small moved off in the distance and he crouched instinctively, watching it. "What is that thing?"

(OOC: It's ok XD i don't think his image has been loaded yet.. still trying to figure out this whole forum rp thing...My GF was supposed to join with me and teach me...she's done these things before...)

Genesis breathed a sigh of relief. So far, so good. At least he did not seem particularly hostile. And now that she was certain that he was not going to attack her, she could relax and breathe freer now. Perhaps even a bit of her lively personality would start to show.

"Thank you. I like my name, too." The fae dipped her tiara, acknowledging the feline's compliment. "I just got here, so no, I haven't tried anything yet." She glanced around at her surroundings. In truth, there seemed to be an abundance of plants here. Whether the fruit they bear were edible or not, she did not know.

At the male's sudden movement, Genesis backed a step. Her eyes followed up to where he was staring at. "That thing?" She had lowered her voice to a whisper. "I don't know what it is." The small furry thing was actually a rabbit, although neither one of the newborns knew that yet. They would, though, soon.

(yes thank you i can't figure out how to put the alter onto posts i created before i had an alter.. also i want to apologize in advance i just moved and things are a little hectic with me trying to find a job and all..but i'll try and check in as often as i can. )
Kurian itched to chase it, his body reacting with the urge back paws getting a firm stance as his back arched slightly tail lashing. His eyes were riveted on the small furry creature, his front paws inching forward as he hunched lower. "I'm...i'm going to find out what it is." He said softly, eyes never leaving the creature. "I ..think it might be food." He dashed off clumsy in his first attempt scaring the rabbit, but intent on his prize he chased it down and soon had it caught under his paws "Genesis! I caught it~!"

Before she knew it, her companion was down in a crouching stance. Likewise, the fae lowered her body until she was also in a battle mode position. Both were intent on the animal, the thing that just might become food in a few minutes...

Her new friend was the first to go after the prey. Genesis followed suit, darting forward with the swiftness she did not know she had. Kurian soon clamped down on it, and held it hostage. "Genesis! I caught it~!"

"Good job!" The female canine trotted to him eagerly, mouth watering. Then her eyebrows furrowed. "Hmm...so, we...kill it?"

Kurian blinked down at the thing the small wriggling squirming terrified creature "Err...Yes" he said decisively. "If we're going to eat it we should kill it first.." But still he hesitated. He knew they needed to kill it so it didn't suffer when they ate it but, well, knowing and doing were two different things. "Do...do you know how to...to kill?"

Her companion was hesitating. For what, she was not quite sure. "Yes, we kill it..." Her statement held a hint of uncertainty. She trotted over to his side, head cocked as she figured out how instincts was guiding her to do. "Umm...I think you just do this," here she swiped her paw down on the rabbit's neck. "Eek!" She jumped back in shock at the feeling, eyes glued on the fluffy animal. She had felt the crunch of bones under her paw, and had felt the life give way beneath her.

For a moment there, she just stood there in that awkward position, unsure. "If that was killing, that was nasty." Her little nose wrinkled up. "At least I didn't spill any blood. That would have been disgusting." The youngster hesitated, then motioned toward the feline. "Well, go ahead. Eat it." A pause. "I do suppose you know how to eat it, right? 'Cause I sure don't."

OOC I want to apologize things are going really terrible for me IRL and i haven't even felt like getting on and trying to RP. I'm sorry I can't continue with this right now if that changes I will let you know but I wanted to leave you this message so you didn't keep checking for posts from me.
