AFW 4.0. CHANGES

Welcome to the fourth season of A False World! The staff is looking forward to a successful summer, and would like to make clear changes in game play from last season to now. In light of the transition from Proboards v.4.5. to v.5.0., we are lucky to have increased functionality, enabling us to both simplify and elaborate upon some of our inner workings. If you are a returning player, make sure you are aware of these changes before delving back into the False World.

character alters

Proboards' "Alters" plug-in has given us the opportunity to make IC posts under the names of our characters without having to make multiple accounts. This year, we are asking members to make all IC posts utilizing the "alters" function. Character biographies will have alters created for them as they are accepted. Returning members may post in the "Alter Creation" thread in our Updates board to receive alters for existing characters.

The alters function is available only in IC boards. To choose an alter to post as, select the drop down menu to the left of the "Create Thread/Post" button and choose the character you'd like to post under. Your alters will display your character's image as the avatar and will identify your character's species and gender.

random events

We will no longer be issuing random events via PM. Our NPCs Alumina and Hadrian will be randomly intervening in active IC threads. You are not required to acknowledge the occurrence of a random event in-character unless otherwise stated in the event description. As it has been in the past, most of these events are EXP awards or deductions. These posts will merely serve as notifications to users that such an occurrence has taken place. If you would like to incorporate these events into your thread, you are welcome and encouraged to do so.

breedings

Breedings will no longer be managed by the Orchard NPC account. Rather, after two natives have slept beneath a clearly identified Orchard Tree, you will use Proboards' new tagging function. The tagging button in posts is the fourth from the right. You are encouraged to tag all four staffers so that someone can attend to your characters' breeding as quickly as possible. Please include the tags in the final post in your thread. Do not create a new post only to tag staffers.

You will be notified of the outcome via the Orchard NPC directly in the thread you've created.

completing prompts

Likewise, you will no longer message the Prompt NPC account with finished prompt threads. You will tag the staffers so they may handle your rewards as quickly as possible and archive the thread.

exp exchange shop

Perhaps one of the biggest changes is the new EXP Exchange Shop made possible by Proboards' new plug-ins. The shop can be accessed from the navigation menu or the quick links in the welcome table. You can buy items without staff assistance and see all of your purchases in a personal inventory visible in your profiles.

Some items will require staff involvement, whether that be to change alter profiles, create new images, etc. For these purchases, you will also post in our new "Staff Action" thread in our Community board. Here, you will fill out the provided form, and a staff member will take care of your request as quickly as possible. Feel free to tag staffers in these posts.

When a staffer has completed your request, the item will be removed from your inventory. If you have any questions related to Staff Action, you can read about it more extensively in the thread.

Also of note, be aware that item prices have been adjusted for this season.

user > user exp transfer

The monetary system plug-in allows users to transfer EXP between one another without staff involvement. To transfer EXP, navigate to the profile of the user you'd like to give to, and choose the button reading "Send Donation." You may also directly send items using the button "Give." This feature may be used by Art Shop keepers to charge EXP for art. You must provide the art before requiring payment.
