A New Beginning

Silence. Darkness. Comfort. These were the foreign things that echo out. They echo out to a foreign creature and one that was exotic and different. However the creature said nothing about these feelings. They were all too nature for it and it did not think much about it yet. Inside a pod within the Orchard the common place where newborns were hatch upon the world was a female reptile. At the moment the reptile was curl up inside of a ball snorting away. Everything was all of the same to it so it did not think of such thing as a world. It did not know that there were other things beyond this pod. Even when it pondered about it existence her answer was that it was her home and that her home must be keeping her from falling into an abyss. She didn’t know what an abyss was, but it sounded scary falling into nothing. Or maybe it was an illusion and she was merely lacking the imagination, but she didn’t know what an imagination was. She knew nothing, but the inside of this pod. She didn’t even know what she was or why she was brown and white. She didn’t even know that her eyes were yellow and that she was among one of the first of the rare reptiles that had such a rare coloration. She figured it must be the pod and whatever magic or tricks. Maybe it was just a coloration difference to the eye and this was not her real color.
Suddenly she felt a swaying from the pod. She let out a throaty chirp and grunting noise. She was not afraid for she figured that she must have been moving around the pod enough to make it move. However it continue to shake and move making a foreign rustling noise outside until all of the sudden she heard a snap and end up falling on the ground. The reptile let out a loud hiss and started moving violently. Why did her pod fall? Was she falling into the abyss? Was she being deleted out of existence? The reptile wanted to know how and why and the only way she was going to find out was if she figured out a way to get out of her. She used her razor sharp talons to claw at the pod causing it more damage than she realized. They were very shiny, but she thought nothing about them as she finally busted out her pod and the sweet scent of fresh air and warmth hit her. At the same thing a blinding light also hit her eyes blinding and she let out a loud hiss moving out of the way of the sunlight.
She felt like she was suffocating for she was. She couldn’t breathe and she wasn’t sure why. Her lungs if she knew what those were felt like they were on fire, which she didn’t know that were either and finally she let out a cry of fear. She breathing heavily, but after a while she relaxed realizing her lungs were no longer on fire like they were and heartbeat was slowing down back to their normal rate. Finally she stopped her hissing and getting into a defensive position, which involve her cowering down and her claws were outstretch and her tail moving to the side of her body she move her head around sniffing the air and watching the beautiful scenery. Well this was very new and different. Was this what falling into an abyss was like? If so it wasn’t so bad as she walk around, but she was a bit clumsily. It was very awkward and there was this pain in her legs. That scared her and finally she move back into her pod trying to back inside. This new terrain she was highly curious yet very scared about. Why was she feeling this way and how come all of the sudden there was intense pain in her stomach? Nothing made sense and she was hoping something or someone would come along and help her as she curl up in her open pod making a few whimpering noises inside. She was scared and very confused, two things she had never face in her life until now.
