The canine paced a tad nervously in a small circle at the center of the Orchard. Three times the size of a regular canine (aka, fully evolved), with jet black fur and yellow eyes that almost seemed to glow against her darker fur, she had long since stopped frequenting the Orchard unless with Antares or Shadow for fear of scaring the younger ones. But today, perhaps, would be different. The canine had brought with her a few freshly-killed rabbits from beyond the borders of the Orchard, as well as a pile of fruit and edible greens she knew her mate rather enjoyed. Hopefully the offer of food might pique the attention of hungry and/or curious newhatched, as Silva for once had a purpose to her visit today. She opened her mouth to let out a quick, low, howl of greeting- to those who would understand the call, probably only the newhatched canines, it was a summons as well as a friendly greeting. Unfortunately, one could only say so much through howling, so now the elder canine settled down comfortably in the soft grass, waiting to see if any would come. Idly, Silva flopped over to her side, head resting lightly on her paws. It was unusual for someone of the pack to actively be recruiting- normally Silva and her family group were quite content with one another unless someone actually stumbled into Maple Woods looking to join the pack, but now that more of the pods were hatching, it would probably be best to gather some of the young ones in one place, especially when that place contained a trained healer, just in case last year's epidemic broke out again. The canine let out a short howl repeating the same message once more before finally allowing herself to relax. Either others would come, or they wouldn't. For now, she could only wait.

Cheshire giggled, rolling around in the Orchard. It had been a few days after she had hatched and she had yet to finish exploring her birthplace. Luckily, it seemed she learned quick, and was now able to walk... mostly. Her stocky body was still a pain to balance on her small, stubby legs. But her figure made up for her trouble in movement by giving her a strong build, and she was able to endure her falls and hits surprisingly without feeling much pain. But that wasn't what she was busy with. Right now, she had just found a new patch of flowers. Her current data found that they were very, very sweet and aromatic, along with having soft petals. Right now she was conducting an experiment to tell if she could use it as some sort of comfortable nap area.
" That is... a definite yes... " She said, yawning. She took a quick second to look around, trying to spot where her companion had gone off to. Pouting a little, she decided he was still off somewhere. Well, too bad for him. She gave a content sigh, rolling around once more in the heavenly patch of flowers. Lying on her back, she watched as the colorful petals floated in the breeze. Her bright blue eyes squinted, trying to watch even with the bright sunlight. It was much more different than when she was born. Apparently she was born in 'night time', which was the opposite of day and where most of the creatures had gone to rest. Honestly, she favored its moon over the sun, but she still found it relaxing all the same.
Her bright blue eyes fluttered shut, and with one more sigh, the youngling decided it was time to nap. However, her peace did not last for long. She jerked awake upon hearing the sound of howling. Her sensitive ears twitched, irritated by the loud noise. She grumbled for a while, before rolling onto her belly. She stood up, a bit wobbly while doing so, and began to take a few slow paces. After nearly falling over twice, the silver feline finally got a grip on her legs and began walking steadily towards the sound.
After a few minutes of walking, her nose finally caught on to a rather intoxicating scent. Her stomach growled as she locked onto the smell, reminding her of how she hadn't eaten anything other than a few fruits the past few days. She walked deeper into the Orchard, heading towards the middle. She stopped, finally reaching her destination. There, in the middle of the Orchard, was an abnormally large canine and a large pile of food. The kit tilted her head, watching as the canine howled once more. That was weird. Why was it doing that? She pondered the situation for a while, watching the canine closely. Was it protecting its food? But why was it howling then? And most importantly, why was it so big? The possible predator's dark pelt reminded her of her companion, but its bright yellow eyes and size were definitely different. It seemed scary. But the urge to investigate and possibly find out the answers to her questions made the young feline debate whether or not she should take the risk of approaching it.

Sebastian was busy sniffing other pods in the area, curious about 'Scenting' things. He smelled scents that were similar to his and similar to his friend's. some smelled a bit odd, like it was a different creature that came out of the egg. He had gotten used to walking by then and was even running, he was wrong about those limbs being useless. His legs were the most useful things he had ever received! Seba didn't know what he would do without them. The canine's black fur stood out in the sun, but blended with the shadows as he trotted along with his floppy ears perked and listening to the sound of howls in the distance. They seemed similar to the noises he would make sometimes, was it something like him? He sat down and listened for a moment more and the howl sounded again, the howls seemed welcoming and a bit warm even to him. He ripped his attention away from a foul smelling pod and ran along towards the sound.
He sniffed as he ran, he found that a bit difficult to do though since he needed his breath in long deep gasps as he ran, and smelled something sweet and somewhat similar to the organic products of nature around him. The pup bounded along clumsily and found himself tripping over a root of one of the trees and tumbling out of a bush and into the clearing where the source of the howl was coming from. He had landed on his back and was looking at a wold that had a similar coat to him, but had yellow eyes and was what must have been ten times bigger than him. He tilted his head as he looked at the other dog upside down, why was this dog in the sky?
Seba hadn't realized that he was upside down until a moment later before rolling over and looking at the dog, "Sebastian out?" he spoke some of the only few words he knew. He looked at the piles of food and moved to sniff it, one pile smelled similar to the forest while the other smelled a bit more satisfying but a bit foul at the same time, "What What? What What?" he spoke after he pawed at the piles curiously. He hadn't noticed his feline friend hiding in the distance until he had caught the feline's scent "Cheshire! Cheshire! Tree! Out! Sebastian!" He began spout random words to show his excitement in seeing the new things and the creature that was similar to him.

As a pup, Silva had been scolded on more than one occasion by her packmates for not being attentive enough at times. Now, one of the oldest natives alive and mother and pack-leader, she still gave a yelp of surprise at the sudden commotion, rolling completely over and loosing any chance at dignity she may have had. Quickly regaining her composure, the canine gave her chestfur a few quick licks to hide her embarrassment before glancing up at the two new arrivals, a silver feline, quiet and watchful much like Antares, and dark canine, excited and jumpy like herself. The site of the two friends together suddenly gave Silva a pang of nostalgia, remembering when it had been her, a brand new hatchling stumbling about in the world trying to figure out how to walk with her three best friends in the world. Such times had long passed though, and Silva quickly shook her head to clear herself of old thoughts. Now was not the time to be getting sentimental.
"Hello there" she called, making sure to keep her voice warm and friendly as she stood slowly, tail wagging to indicate that she meant them no harm. "You can come on over if you like, I brought something to eat if you're hungry." she paused, giving the two a chance to mull it over before adding. "My name's Silva. I'm like you, I was once hatched here, but that was very very long ago. I was hoping we could talk, if you'd be alright with that. Or you can eat while I talk, if you prefer"
Offer made, Silva pointed her snout towards one of the trees in the orchard, looking at it affectionately. "My pod grew from there" she said affectionately. "Though I'll admit I was a teensy thing then"

Cheshire furrowed her brows, slightly upset that her energetic companion had just given away her position. She remained silent, waiting expectantly. To her surprise, the scary-looking canine didn't react harshly. Instead, it began welcoming them and offering food. The feline blinked twice, indicating her confusion. When the stranger introduced itself and began speaking about its pod, the kit finally decided that this canine was actually friendly. Standing up, she began taking a few careful steps towards the two canines and the food pile. She nearly tripped once more, but had luckily been able to catch herself.
The youngling sat down near the food pile, a bit farther from her friend and their new acquaintance. She tried to pay attention to the new canine, wanting to know its story. Currently, she knew that this canine looked an awful lot like her friend in color, but was much larger. Would she also become big like that someday? She smiled a bit, feeling grateful of the possibility of being able to grow big and strong. Right now, she felt disappointed at the fact she could barely even walk yet. But maybe, just maybe, she could grow up to be just like this cool-looking canine. Well, she probably wouldn't look exactly the same, but having stronger legs would definitely be a blessing.
While listening, the kit was also examining the food pile. Some of it seemed fluffy and red and smelled foul. Cheshire wrinkled her nose at it, but she could feel a small portion of her conscience nagging her to try eating it. Either for her curiosity or for her hunger, the silver feline bent down, grabbing one by the ear. She chewed on the long appendage, finding the taste odd. It felt natural to try and eat the weird thing, but she couldn't seem to find any satisfaction in it. With the floppy ear still in her mouth, she turned to the older canine, tilting her head and raising a brow as if to say 'Am I doing this right?'.

Seba blinked at his friend's expression, finding it kind of amusing. He quickly lost interest and noticed a giant fluffy limb towards the bigger creature's hind legs. He had no clue what that thing was, and had no idea that he had a "Giant Fluffy Limb on the Rear" himself. He moved around the big beast, which seemed to have rolled over in his entrance. He had wondered why the big fluffy creature had rolled over, but right now he was too busy inspecting the oddity on the canines rump. He reached his paw out to touch it, but his paw fell short as he grew too scared to touch the odd thing. He felt something move behind him and looked to see that he had one of the odd limbs of his own!
He wanted to touch it, so he reached his paw out to reach it but ended up leaning while doing so and falling on his side. He yelped in surprise and pain as a stick he had landed on was pushed into his ribs, possibly only bruising him. He concluded that only going after the thing would harm him, as his attention was attracted to his feline friend as she seemed to be doing something with one of the piles. Sebastian sniffed the foul smelling pile and then the sweet smelling pile, he liked the sweet one better. His smelling had made his stomach do something he had never heard of before, growl.
He looked around to see where the noise was emitting from and took him a few seconds that it was just his stomach. He also felt a bit of emptiness in his stomach that he couldn't quite explain. He wondered if he should copy his friend. No reason to not to, he thought in much simpler thoughts that only he could understand since he didn't know the form of speech yet. He grabbed one of the more sweeter smelling objects and looked to see his friend biting it, he copied.
The canine bit into the fruit, juices flowing from the punctures into his mouth. he choked for a bit before learning how to stop the liquid from going down his wind pipe. He rather enjoyed it, he wanted more of the sweet taste to flow in his mouth. So he attempted to bite harder, to find that he couldn't and that his puppy teeth were now stuck in the fruit. He looked to Cheshire in a panic, what should he do? Would he have to live with this fruit in his mouth the rest of his life? He gave a whimper of grief as he begged for help in his predicament.

Silva quickly turned her muzzle away to hide a coo of pure adoration, these two were adorable! she doubted they were more than a few hours old- the way the feline walked sort of reminded Silva of how she and her friends had been while they were exploring the River Garden. Of course, that had ended in rather an exciting nature, as shortly after leaving the Orchard, Silva's best friend Nerah had somehow evolved, causing a bit of a panic on everyone's end as they tried to figure out what was going on.
The feline seemed to have trouble with the rabbit, so Silva carefully nudged her snout towards the rabbit's stomach instead, motioning to a spot right where the most of the actual edible meat would be. "It's tastier here" the canine suggested, before belatedly remembeing that the feline probably wouldn't know how to get at the actual meat itself. "Oh, sorry! Allow me." she bent her head to bite gently into the rabbit, tearing open it's stomach to expose the actual meat on the inside, indicating again. "Try that bit, the stuff without the fur. It's a lot tastier. If you don't like it you can always try some of the fruit like your friend is having. A friend of mine only eats fruits and leaves like those ones over there" Okay, now she was getting off topic and babbling. Perhaps she should have taken another of her pack with her, Silva realized.
The canine that looked strangely like her seemed to be having a bit of trouble with the fruit. Silva moved to help him, then stopped as he realized he was looking at the feline for help instead. The canine settled back down. They probably trusted one another more than they did her, and she would probably do nothing but scare him if she attempted to help. It would probably best to let the two try and figure it out on their own first - if they couldn't figure it out on their own, then Silva would of course later help. "Why don't you try pulling on the other end of the fruit- gently, so he doesn't hurt his teeth" Silva at least suggested to the feline. "Oh yes, and do you two have names yet? Some people are hatched knowing theirs, others don't figure it out for a few minutes, so have you figured out...?" she let her voice trickle down, realizing that she once again was babbling.
Well, she might as well get to the point eventually. "I was wondering if you guys wanted to learn about my home and friends a little bit. I live over there with some of my best friends and family" Silva pointed with her muzzle to where a swatch of Maple Trees could be seen, outside the boundaries of the orchard. The trees seemed to lead to a large forest, in which Silva had made her home. "We live together in a group called a pack- it's sort of like a group of friends and family who take care of eachother. Would you guys like me to tell you about it?" Silva wanted to spread the word about Starpack, but she wouldn't bother the two with the information if they didn't seem to interested.

Cheshire watched as Silva poked at the stomach, immediately taking note of it. Okay, so I shouldn't eat the long thing. Only the thingy in the mid- The feline suddenly squeaked as it saw the female canine suddenly tear open the white fluff and cause the stench to worsen. She dropped the white creature, taking a small jump back in surprise, her tail fluffing up as she did so. She wriggled her nose, not taking much of a liking to the powerful smell. Oddly enough, it still seemed enticing. She took a step forwards, eyes fixated on the sudden red patch that was opened by the canine. It seemed to be the source of the foul scent. She poked it with her paw, and continued to do so for a little while. It was soft and squishy, drastically different from the soft, white fluff that surrounded it. It was kinda weird, yet amusing at the same time.
She turned to Sebastian, seeing the canine's panicked eyes. Almost immediately, she reacted. She raised a paw and began batting at the fruit, frantically attempting to get it off her friend's face. She heard Silva's advice, stopping her rather useless batting. She sunk her teeth into the fruit, tugging and pulling. However, it seemed she acted a bit too reckless, and ended up getting her own newborn teeth stuck as well. Her ears flattened on her head, not liking this predicament. As much as the fruit tasted nice, her teeth being stuck was not a comfortable experience. The feline continued pulling, adding more force than necessary and ending up hurting hers, and probably her friend's teeth as well.
After a few more tries at pulling off the fruit, the feline gave up. With a pleading whimper, she did her best to look over to the older canine, hoping for some assistance. Honestly, maybe it was better than she had just left this task to Silva. She was just a kitten after all, and such realizations made her want to hit her head on the ground. She turned her glance to her canine friend, who was literally right in front of her. She gave an awkward smile, as if to say 'Sorry for messing up'.

The pup wagged his tail at Cheshire, forgetting about his previous worries. He stared at his friend that was now stuck with him for a bit before realizing that now they were BOTH stuck on the large fruit. He made a whining sound and looked to the bigger version of him, "Sabahcian ah Hethire ouh?" he asked with the fruit in his jaws. He had meant to say, "Sebastian and Cheshire out?" to plead for help. He had finally understood the concept of "out", he understood that it was not what this world was called, but what one calls something not enclosed and captured. It was difficult to explain for him, but he understood 'out' now. Right now, he wanted 'out' of the fruit, he thought that the fruit had bitten a part of him in revenge for him biting on it, and his teeth were now stuck in the fruit's 'mouth'. He whined and wagged his tail with a pleading look which looked a bit ridiculous with his jaws wide open on the strange tooth-eating-fruit. (Sorry only 178 words, a bit brain dead and rushed right now)

Agenor With mere hours having past since the pale silver feline had fallen, rather gracelessly, from his own pod. He'd taken some time to get his large limbs under control, though his tail still flicked haphazardly to and fro. But at least he was able to get up, lay down, and walk in a straight line. Not such easy feats when your paws were the size of dinner plates and your tail threatened to tip you over backwards. He ran his tongue across one smokey shoulder, ears swiveling as the sounds of commotion and conversation reached him. Violet gaze turned, looking over said shoulder to the small gathering in the clearing to his left and a bit behind. But rather than approach the group, he sat and watched through the nook of the nearest tree, the very tree he'd fallen from, actually. Two strange looking beasts and another feline like himself. Two were smaller than himself, while the big one would have towered over him. They looked odd together, but then he had no real way to tell if they actually were an odd group, or is they simply seemed that way due to the fact that he had yet to see more than another single hatchling thus far. Maybe all the little ones were supposed to meet up with a big one? Maybe this big one was there to tell them what to do next? Maybe he'd just wait and watch, and see what came of the meeting. Though his belly was starting to feel grumbly for some reason. Especially when he looked at the furry things that the small dark one was chewing on. Odd...

(omg guys so sorry for the delay. If it happens again, throw rocks at me :C)
Silva blinked as the pair managed to get themselves even more entangled into the fruit. Well this was one situation she had never quite been in herself as a pup. "Alright then, just hold on a second" the canine murmured, bending over to press down on the fruit with a large paw. She had grown so much since leaving the orchard, Silva's jaws were now too bit to grab onto the fruit as well without her teeth scraping one of the little ones. Pressing down on the fruit with one paw while sitting carefully down, the canine used her free paw to gently pull first Sebastian's, then Cheshire's, jaws out of the fruit. As an afterthought, Silva pressed down hard on the fruit once it was free of hatchling teeth, crushing it into more managable bite-sized pieces. "How about you try eating that- an maybe don't take such large bites next time" Silva suggested with a sheepish grin.
A flicker of movement caught her eye and Silva turned to see another feline padding in. Perhaps he had heard her howl as well. "Hello there" Silva called, wagging her tail in a friendly manner. "You're free to come join us if you want"
So far, none seemed interesting in learning about the pack, but perhaps that was fair enough, considering how new these little ones seemed to the world.

Cheshire felt terrible as she stared at her friend. Instead of helping, she got both of them stuck. This turned out way more embarrassing than she had expected. Her eyes shifted as Silva's large paw came to view, pressing down at the fruit. The larger wolf's other paw rested on Sebastian's jaw, attempting to pull it off. It then moved to her own, much smaller muzzle, pulling with enough strength that it didn't crush the small snout but managed to pull her newborn teeth off. The kit slowly opened and closed her mouth, trying to get rid of the weird feeling it had. The sweetness of the fruit's juice seemed just a bit too sweet, and now there was an odd tinge on her small fangs. She ran her tongue on her teeth for a few seconds, focusing on getting rid of the unusual taste. Her ears twitched when she heard the older canine suddenly directed a greeting to the opposite direction.
Bright blue eyes spotted another creature in the distance. This creature seemed very similar to her, except it was possibly twice as huge. Dull, gray swirls with a slight tinge of red for a pelt, and a violet pair of squinty eyes. Cheshire resisted the urge to laugh, finding its oddly shaped eyes humorous. The urge died down quick enough when she noticed its large stature and sturdy build. She stood upright, leaning just a bit forward as she began to focus. Her ears pointed forwards as well as her eyes, observing the newcomer's every move. If it was the same as her, then it probably isn't a threat. Its stature, however, seemed to say otherwise. Was this going to be friendly like Sebastian and Silva, or was it going to attack? Its silence earned a bit of empathy, as Cheshire assumed it may have been observing just like she had.

The furry pup was pleased when he was freed from the fruit. He used his seemingly limitless energy to bounce around in delight and chase his tail repeatedly. He hadn't noticed the new comer and was instead stumbling on his clumsy legs once more and fell into the foul smelling pile of meat. He gave a yelp and jumped out of it, not really wanting anything to do with that pile because of it's smell. He had lost his appetite with that action and simply huffed in annoyance, "Out!" He finally noticed the newcomer that seemed to have just arrived, as always his curiosity sparked. He slowly made his way to the feline and sniffed at it while keeping a distance, "Sebastian? Cheshire?" he blurted out, wanting to know the creature's name. Sebastian wondered why he had seen so many of the slender creatures with long tails, and only one creature that looked like him. Was the outside world full of these felines and his kind was a rare kind? He grew a bit disappointed at the thought, but brightened up again as he suddenly darted away from the new cat to sit near Cheshire again with a happy pant and a bark.

(teach me to look away for two days!) Agenor Though the large one looked so strange, there was little mistaking the gentle tilt to her ears, or the welcoming swing of that bushy tail. Then she spoke and his suspicions were confirmed. He dipped his chin in acceptance of her words, and as a return of her greeting. He was still having trouble getting his voice to work, getting the word to come out in a manner that sounded correct. So better maybe to just keep quiet then? Words really weren't necessary, not for the most basic of things, anyways. Narrow violet gaze turned to the feline that looked similar to him, left ear flicking slightly as she stared him down, seeming as if she might tilt forward and fall if she looked much harder. And then there was the small, odd looking one. And here he came, right on over as if he didn't have a worry in the world. Agenor stiffened slightly as the pup bounced up, Back arching ever so slightly in that feline manner as the pup sniffed at him without getting too close. He wasn't sure he honestly trusted the little thing, but yet it hadn't tried to hurt him.... Yet Cocking his head, both ears flicked back as the little odd one started questioning him, as if he was trying to name him! Tail flicked slightly as he finally stepped forward, past the pup, though it was now bounding off to sit beside the blue eyed feline. Name... Name. Name? He had one... What was it? What did he call himself? What should others call him? "Agenor" He said finally, as if he'd come to a decision. Agenor was what he was called. Yes, that sounded right. And it had come out correctly too, not all grumbly and garbly. Sitting himself down a few feet off from the rest, tail curling around his massive paws as those slanted, squinty violet eyes took in the oddball group. What was a big one doing here with the little ones? Was he some sort or caretaker? Was she their mother?
