A rare raincloud had emptied itself last night over the forest, and the entire thing was damp with rain and the morning dew. She liked the way it smelled, the barks releasing scents that ranged from pungent to sweet to spicy and the ground smelling so clean. She couldn’t help but slow her breathing so she could hold more of the scent in her nose, in her lungs. Even as the trees dripped down warm beads of water on her nose she couldn’t help but think how wonderful it was, to have everything clean and fresh and growing. She most especially liked the growing. Sometimes in the heat of summer, plants dried out and died, and it hurt her heart to see something dying so unnecessarily. The plants were growing now, though, their stems and leaves lively green.
She paused at the base of a penny tree, surveying it with wide citrine eyes. Balancing carefully on her back legs, she clawed off a small piece of bark, one of her favorite morning treats, Sitting rather primly at the base of the tree, gossamer tail wrapped around her paws as she took the piece of bark into her mouth, clenching it gently between her teeth before beginning to chew slowly, the sugary taste washing over her tongue. When she finished, she yawned idly, and wondered briefly if she could climb the tree to find bark that had not been touched by so many other animal’s bodies and paws and claws.

[/IMG] "I, um.. Hi there." Daring to speak boldly to the female he had seen a few days earlier, Coeus tried not to scare her too much as she had seemed pretty shy the last time they had spoken. Offering up a light smile, tail fluttered gently behind him as a small smile curled over facial features. The rains last night had helped in more ways than one, giving both plants the water they so desperately needed and the animals got to feel a cleaner ground, at least for a day or two. He certainly liked it, for all the scents were more distinct now and it was easier to find certain plants and observe them, to study their appearances and everything he could find in order to get to know the world around him better. The feline had only been alive for a short amount of time, after all, and anything and everything he could learn would eagerly be snatched up in order to further familiarize himself with everything outside of the orchard. The same penny tree that had gotten Serissa's attention had captured his, and so hopefully the other would be okay with sharing the space and perhaps a short conversation. Coeus wasn't really one for eating plants; although, admittedly he had never eaten tree bark and so had no idea what to expect, which slightly scared the cat. Yet of the other was eating it, it couldn't be that bad - right? "" [/blockquote] { made by ally of thesintax and rpgd, please leave this credit intact }

i need a sign to let me know you're here all of these lines are being crossed over the atmosphere - - - calling all you angels - - - “Oh!” The female breathed out a soft, surprised noise as she turned towards the sound of the voice that had disturbed the otherwise peaceful morning. The details of his body slid into focus as she blinked away the surprise, her brain to process everything and nothing at once. She stood up, her tail waving like a cream and amber flag behind her as a soft breeze played across the undergrowth. Her bright eyes sparked with recognition – she had met this male a few minutes after he had been born. She had not been the best of orators then, stumbling over her tongue, and as she opened her mouth, she could tell this meeting was going to go the same way.
“It’s uh – um…nice morning, isn’t it?” She mewed, the words tripping over each other as she tried, much too hastily, to spit them out. Originally she was trying to make a comment about the rain, the rain she loved with all of her heart, but her words had taken her in an utterly different direction. She took a deep breath, intending to speak again, but then realized it would probably be for the best if she didn’t talk. She closed her eyes, looking somewhere to the side and downwards, shaking her head slightly to herself. She was so stupidly shy sometimes that it hurt! She slid her eyelids open, looking up at the other through half-closed lashes and smiling as best as she could given her embarrassment.
