[/style] NO LIGHT NO LIGHT IN YOUR BRIGHT BLUE EYES Alastair sat perched on a rock in the middle of the river garden, staring intently down at the water though he couldn't see it. It'd probably been a week since he'd eaten after losing track of his companions, and prey tends to be hard to catch when you can't see it or only vaguely hear it because of the noise of the surrounding area. Ruddy river garden. The feline found himself practically trapped here after wandering off on his own and being unable to track himself back due to the mix of new smells that confused his senses.
He thought he could feel the vibrations of a fish swimming against the rock he was perched on, so he quickly dove at the water in an attempt to catch it but he was too slow and too clumsy. Now dripping wet and ice cold from the chilly water he dragged himself back to the shore, making clicking noises to make sure he wouldn't run into anything.
"Bloody water, bloody fish, bloody hunger! I hate everything." he muttered to himself as he tried to lick the excess water out of his dripping coat. A sound that could easily pass as the wind rustling the trees was heard in the bushed across from him, but he wasn't that stupid.
"I am not food and I am completely capable of defending myself do not underestimate me." the feline snarled and arched himself to appear bigger.

Kayalee's ear twitched slightly as she padded through the river garden, it was beautiful here, but not so beautiful as the place she called home. She sighed as she once again sank into the mud. The one con of this place, mud, everywhere. Kayalee thought. Carren gave a squawk and perched on Kayalee's shoulder with an irritable. He must have been attempting to fish, his claws and some of his feathers were soaked. "No worries, my pet, we won't stay for to long." Kayalee purred. What in the world was that? Kayalee thought, as she heard the sharp sound of splashing, she quickened her pace. The currents were stronger this way, someone might have gotten hurt! With her motherly instinct from being older than most creatures here she soon came across an unusual sight. A feline was splashing around seemingly sightlessly. Oh, she knew that pattern. It was Alistair, she had met him before. Oh, he's blind, maybe he needs help with that fishing. Kayalee advanced closer as Alistair cursed at the water and other things. Carren tilted his head and squeaked. "I am not here to hurt you, Alistair." Kayalee responded as she neared the soaked feline. "I only wish to help you, if you remember me that is." Kayalee added quickly. Carren made a strange noise in his throat and flew towards Alistair, landing in front of his paws. - -Tomorrow's a Mystery - - [/blockquote]

[/style] NO LIGHT NO LIGHT IN YOUR BRIGHT BLUE EYES Alastair settled down slightly at the felines words and gave her a mildly indignant stare, he did in fact recognize her but he didn't appreciate being sneaked up on. Though when the bird approached he puffed himself up all over again, it didn't sound friendly so he wasn't going to take his chances with it.
"Yeah, yeah, I remember you. I haven't been having very good luck with getting out of this damned place there's apparently thorns and water everywhere that are out to get me." the feline continue'd puffing himself up at the bird as he spoke to Kayalee.
"What's the thing in front of me, I don't think I like it." he gave the raven a few sniffs while keeping his distance. He'd never smelled anything like it before, and he wasn't a big fan of unfamiliar things.

Kayalee tilted her head at Alastair's look, she then sighed at Carren for approaching the other feline. She stretched her paws in front of her and carefully laid down on a large flat rock, letting her tail trail in the pulling current of the water. "Carren, please." Kayalee meowed at her pet. Carren turned, crowed, and turned back to Alistair. Kayalee frowned, "Do you perhaps, need a guide out of here?" Kayalee asked, not meaning to be offensive at all to the blind aboriginal. "Or do you need a hand with food, if you don't I'll leave you be." Kayalee meowed. "That's Carren, my raven." Kayalee meowed, "Carren, come here!" Kayalee meowed harshly at her pet. Carren cawed quietly and hopped towards his mistress, after giving Alistair a stare of indigence. - -Tomorrow's a Mystery - - [/blockquote]

[/style] NO LIGHT NO LIGHT IN YOUR BRIGHT BLUE EYES Alastair thought about rejecting Kayalee, but he'd been trapped in the river garden for weeks now and had hardly eaten since then so desperation overpowered his ego.
"Yes, unfortunately. You live out on the plains correct? Would you mind guiding me there, it's hard to hunt and think when my senses are overpowered by water and noise." his voice was tinged with mild shame, the feline absolutely hated needing help. He would be completely fine on his own but no, he had to end up in the blasted river garden and get himself trapped. Ugh. Though Kayalee was very polite the last time they'd met, not dwelling on his lack of sight as a horrible disability, unlike most.
"So that bird is under your command? That's interesting. I never thought birds were capable of companionship -- no offense or anything." Alastair's fur had finally began to fluff down now that it was clear that he was in no danger, though it was still grossly wet and parts were dried into messy clumps. His fur was generally a mess most of the time since he couldn't see himself to assess if he was looking decent but it was in quite a bit more disarray than normal.

Kayalee nodded meowing, "Yes, I do live in the plains and I wouldn't mind guiding you there," Kayalee tilted her head slightly. "There is no shame in needing help, all creatures find they need help sooner than later." She meowed matter of factly, pulling her tail from it's resting place in the water and flicking it quickly, spraying water across her back, which then turned to lick dry. "Carren is quite the companion, I found him in the wasteland." Kayalee meowed, and pulled herself to her paws. "Aren't you uncomfortable with your fur unevenly wet like it is?" Kayalee asked, leaping to the edge of the river, closer to where Alastair was standing. She delicately leaned towards him and sniffed at the dried clumps of fur across his striped back, then leaned away, not wanting to make him feel cornered. [/style] NO LIGHT NO LIGHT IN YOUR BRIGHT BLUE EYES "Well I doubt most get themselves trapped here for weeks on end." Alastair grumbled, mostly to himself. He wouldn't be so disgusted with himself needing help if it weren't over something so incredibly stupid.
"I've never heard of a wasteland around here, that sounds unpleasant." the feline cocked his head slightly to the side in interest. He certainly wasn't one for exploring but hearing about other lands beyond here he'd explored before interested. It interested him even more that the bird was from one of those distant lands.
"No not really, it's normally a mess. Not that I don't take care of myself I just don't really care about the way my fur lays." Alastair flinched slightly at Kayalee's sudden closeness. He wasn't normally so jumpy and sour but he was vulnerable and irritated from hunger and being stranded in the river garden.
"Ahh, could we get going now, this place makes me even more uncomfortable by the second. And I've been here for weeks so you can imagine how uncomfortable I am now." he swished his still damp tail around, not in agitation but anticipation to finally get out of the wet garden. Being here for so long left him with a feeling of impatience for leaving. The plains were nice though, no trees to accidentally run into, no water. The prey was still hard to catch but it's easy to outsmart a rat, not so easy to do the same with fish and water snakes.

Kayalee let out a low huff. "The wasteland wasn't that entirely unpleasant, actually." Kayalee stated, nosing at Carren, attempting to get him to hop up onto her shoulder. Carren squeaked and obliged to his mistress's unspoken command, curling his talons tightly into her silvery-grey fur. Kayalee turned her head and peered into the waters of the river, her aqua eyes hunting. She suddenly darted her paw towards the water and scooped out a slightly less than average sized river fish. "You should eat before we go, it's a bit of walk to get out of here" Kayalee meowed, pushing the fish towards Alastair with her nose. Hoping he would ignore his stubbornness for a moment and eat her offering to him. Kayalee raised herself to her paws and stared around, sniffing at the air. She needed to get a gauge of where exactly she was so she could find her way home. Hmm, the scent of maple was here, they were closer to the forest than the plains. This will be quite the walk. Kayalee thought. Carren swooped upwards and began flying away, home as Kayalee presumed. "I guess I should just follow Carren." Kayalee mused, she wasn't exactly sure where they were at the time, being in the air would definitely help for the moment. [/blockquote]
