Seraphi padded through the forest, her paws carrying her aimlessly and slightly unsteadily between the trees as she gazed around. Her glider companion perched between her ears, her claws gripping her fur to prevent her from falling to the forest floor. It was a fairly nice day, though hotter than what she was used to. It had rained that morning, but the rain was warm and brief and did nothing to cool the temperature of the forest.
A glint up ahead caught her attention and she realized she had wandered close to the lake. Her tail wagged and she sped up. Perhaps a good swim was what she needed to cool down.

Shadow shook out his fur with a sigh. It was growing longer, which normally was fine, but proved to be an annoyance in the summer months. Ah, summer. This was was the first that Shadow had experienced since his hatching, almost a year ago now. He hadn't quite remembered it being so hot back then, but then again, his fur had been shorter back then. Now it rippled clearly when he walked, and its dark coloring did nothing to help him out in the heat.
A light breeze picked up- a momentary respite from the heat - and Shadow's tail wagged as he picked up the scent of his half-sister on the breeze. Seraphi's fur wasn't as dark as his, but she would likely still be panting in the heat, and bored as well. Perhaps now would be as good a time as any to seek her out, perhaps idly chat. The mixed canine/feline padded after his sister's scent.
When he spotted her by the lake, he let out a meow-yip of greeting, trotting to catch up with her. "Seraphi" he greeted with a purr, reaching forward to nuzzle his den-mate. "How goes it?"

((Sorry about the shortness. x.x))
She slowed to a stop as she heard her name, her ears twitching before her head turned toward her half-brother. Her tail swished back and forth and her jaws parted to form a smile. “Shadow!” She turned the rest of her body and padded over, closing the distance between them and giving the darker mix a nuzzle. “I’m doing good, how about you?” She blinked. “I was thinking about having a swim. What about you? Is that why you came out here?” She hoped so – it was always more fun to swim with packmates and friends than it was to do it alone.

Seraphi seemed please to see him, and that always made Shadow happy. He enjoyed spending time with his half-sister, enjoyed that they could actually spend time together without ever getting thrown off by one another's odd canine/feline form, and simply just enjoyed her presence. He gave a short purr before responding, tilting his snout in consideration to the water. "I wasn't planning on going swimming" he admitted with a sheepish shrug. "But there's no reason against a change of plans. Is the water warm?" without waiting for an answer, he padded down to see for himself, dipping a paw into the water experimentally. Then, in a rare burst of playfulness, the mixed breed hopped back up to his sister and in a flash was around her, giving her a light shove in an attempt to unbalance her into the water- deep enough that the fall wouldn't hurt her, without a strong current that would sweep her away.

Seraphi opened her mouth to respond, but closed it again when her half-brother padded to the water, testing it for himself. She watched him until he hopped back up to her. Then, before she knew what was happening, he moved around her and a sudden weight on her side sent her tumbling to the water with a startled yelp. Her limbs flailed for a few moments, and then pressed against the muddy ground beneath the water, pushing her head and shoulders above the surface.
“Hey! I’ll get you for that!” Seraphi shook her head to clear the water from her ears and reared up on her hind legs, splashing at the water with her forelimbs in an attempt to drench Shadow.
