Ivory coat glistened in the light of the sun. Mismatched eyes scanned the horizon for answers. Riu was bored, and her position showed that. She was laying down in a bed of flowers, pawing at a beetle that was scuttling in front of her. The maiden let out a giggle of amusement. As far as she knew, she was alone and she hated it. She needed company. Badly. A rustle sounded in a clump of bushes nearby, distracting her from the bug. "Who's there?" she asked quietly. Orbs flickered back and forth in her dome and tail was slightly tucked between her leags in a slight fear of the unknown.

Lukasse wasn't new to life, having been around for the greater part of the year, but the silver striped reptile had opted to remain in the orchard rather then venture out into unknown territory. This made for a lonely existence, as she had yet to encounter any other creatures. Well, any creatures that were intelligent enough to hold a conversation with. Not that she'd have the courage to approach anyone even if she did find someone...it had taken her forever to learn that the lesser creatures she encountered had more to worry about from her than she did from them.
Up until recently, every day had been about the same. Upon waking today, however, she knew things were going to be different. The pods that had been growing on the trees were getting to be almost as large as the one she had struggled from at the start of her life. That meant she'd no longer be alone in the Orchard, which was a good thing...right?
A flash of white caught her attention, and she made her way toward it, taking cover behind some bushes until she could determine what she had seen. It was another creature from the pods. A...canine, by the look of it. Said canine was pawing at something she couldn't see. Maybe a small rodent or bug or something. Was she trying to hunt? That wasn't the right way to go about it. Maybe she was new?
Lukasse stepped back while she debated on whether or not to meet the canine. The decision was made for her, though, when she accidentally rustled the bush and alerted the other creature to her presence. She froze at the call, instinct telling her to find a place to hide. But...she wanted company, and this creature seemed just as scared as her.
Lukasse took a deep breath and then stepped forward, ducking her head down in an awkward bow. "H-hello."

Suddenly, a reptile appeared from the bush to the Ivory maiden's right. The one that had rustled. The lizard had ducked its head in a bow of some sort. "Y-you there." she called. "Were you the one that rustled the bush?" she was a little scared and if this scaled creature did in fact cause the bush to move, that would make Riu feel a lot better.
ADD got the best of her, and she soon lost interest in the metallic scaled lizard and turned her attention back to the beetle. She rose a paw and slammed it down upon the shiny black insect. "Haha, gotcha now." she said quietly. Long claws dug into the dirt to prevent the beetle from escaping if it had somehow had avoided being crushed by her paw.
Riu flicked her ears as she turned her attention back to the silver thing. "The name's Riu."

Lukasse nodded when asked if she’d been the one to make the noise. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” The claws on her left hand gripped her right arm, tugging at the feathers that lined the appendage. She opened her mouth to speak, but saw that the canine was no longer paying attention to her so she stood quietly and watched as she slammed her paw down on the beetle.
One the beetle was captured (or killed), the canine turned her attention back to the reptile, who blinked. “I’m Lukasse.” She looked around. “It’s…been a while since I’ve seen anyone around that I can talk to, so I got curious. If I’m intruding, I can go away…”
