08/17 - Staff Applications

We're opening two moderator positions up since all of the current staff will be very busy with school until next summer. Applicants should be knowledgeable about site regulations and not be busy over the school year.

Moderators will be responsible for tasks including rotating the adoption center, random events, approving biographies, creating prompt threads, advertising, checking word counts, and participating in staff discussions. If you are chosen for a moderator position you will be messaged with more details.

AVERAGE POSTING WORD COUNT, It varies. Usually in the 100-150 range, sometimes longer.
AVERAGE DAILY ACTIVITY, I’m on at least once a day, and usually much more. ^.^
PRIOR STAFFING EXPERIENCE, Recently? I have moderated a couple sites, and I did moderator/admin duties ages ago back when AcornRack and AvidGamers existed.

I’ve never been good at layouts or the like, and my coding skills don’t really go beyond what I use in my chronicle, but I’m sure I can learn. I’ve been with this site since the beginning, checking it regularly even during the downtime last year, so you know I’m going to stick around. I’m not attending school at this point in my life, so my activity level isn’t going to change and I should be able to perform all my duties daily. I can’t think of any specific ideas I’d want to put into practice upon becoming staff (except for maybe a list of open threads that need responses), though I’m always looking for some way to contribute or help everyone out. I have been in charge of accepting applications, advertising, looking over posts to check for the proper word count and/or anything inappropriate, and making sure rules are enforced on the sites, so I already know what to do regarding those duties. There was no staff discussion, adoption feature, prompt/event posting (except those planned out by the members themselves), etc. on my previous sites, but I won’t have any problem keeping up there, either. I look forward to helping with everything mentioned, should I be chosen.

PRIOR STAFFING EXPERIENCE. I am a moderator of an in-the-making SIM game called Aliphiria, a SIM called Pakasanura, and a currently inactive horse roleplay called Circtus.

I have a little bit of experience with coding, but not enough to brag about. Even though I'm younger than most of the people here I am very responsible and will be a very active member here. When given a chance I can be a very creative writer, so it would be a good experience for me to be able to work on contests, prompts, and resetting the AC. Since this site is just starting to grow I think it would be good to jump in as a staff member now so I can really get a hold of all the skills I need now instead of when there are a million things I need to do at once. I really am thinking of myself as a last resort, but it would be a really fun thing to do. :3

PRIOR STAFFING EXPERIENCE, I run a horse site called Circtus, I am expecting to be a mod on a place called Impulse, I g-mod on a place called Crystal Key, I co-own a site called Destiny Awaits, and I co-own a site called Under a Dixie Sun, so I am loaded with experience.


I am familiar with designing, coding and art, but in art I can only do animal manipulations, not so much pixel art. If you give me a pre-shaded version of something then I can make fabulous things, but otherwise I fail at pixel art all together. I have been coding for a couple years, so i am not extremely good, but I know the basics. Designing is extremely easy for me, but time consuming. I spent like 8 hours on my sites layout to make it just right, so you know I will put a lot of effort into it. I really love the idea of this site, and I couldn't help but apply, even though I am new. I am very friendly, and I love to hang out in the c-box too! I love to go around and advertise a bunch, so you don't need to worry. i find it fun to create new characters for people to adopt so I will always be keeping track of that. respect if you would prefer to wait a bit and watch how I do before making me a moderator, I totally understand, so no hard feelings.

PRIOR STAFFING EXPERIENCE, I've admined and modded on several runescape and minecraft servers, a few let down rp boards, aswell as a prior pet site.

I am familiar with coding, designing and art, though I'm just learning the ropes of coding and designing. I've been drawing since I was a small lad of just 4, though. I do manipulations, pixel art, with experience in both cell and gradient shading. I've coded a bit of css and html over my years, but never got into it. Just really simple stuff, like CSS alignment , clickable links, re-sizing text/images.. I adore this sites atmosphere and plot-line, I love the designs and descriptions of the species, and also love writing descriptions.
I've always found it fun to watch people create a character out of the simplest descriptions and pictures, and love seeing how they evolve it on their own with personalities and such. I'm a patient person and take time in everything I do, though I admit I have my own bluntly obvious flaws. I respect your own choices on deciding what to do with me, whether it's to watch how I do for an extended period of time, or just reject it completely. I'm a fairly understandable person about such actions.
