Nixen was rather annoyed. He had known that there were certain types of animals that were a little bit more...special, per say, than others, but he had never met a more "special" species than that known as the Aboriginal Canine. Canines in general, actually, were annoying beyond compare. Nixen wasn't an aggressive cat - he preferred to keep his fur clean, if at all possible. But no, today he was strolling around the orchard, minding his own business, surveying the trees and the newborn canines and felines, when a canine just so happened to appear. This canine had dark fur, beady red eyes, and wasn't exactly a looker. And what had the canine done? Instead of minding her own business, she had threatened him! Told him he'd "better get his scrawny little feline body outta the way", or she would hurt him! The nerve of canines.

Kayalee had strayed from the familiar plains towards the towering maples, she padded over the leaves with great care, but the leaves were falling of nature's accord, making her stroll incredibly noisy with the crushing and crackling of leaves under paw. She hesitated when she saw a lone Aboriginal Feline, whoever he was, he looked mighty irritated about something. She padded towards him at a slow pace, taking care not to crunch many leaves under her Occult paws. She stopped a few feet from where the Aboriginal Feline was and opened her jaws to meow. "Excuse me, is something wrong?"

((Hope you don’t mind. ^.^ ) River had finished her hunting for the day, her nest was in good shape, and she had plenty of energy left, so she took the opportunity to explore a new place. She had never been to the Maple Forest before, and was curious about what it was like. It was certainly colorful, the trees shining red and gold around her. It was pretty, though she thought she preferred her home in its cooler shades to this bright display. A familiar scent caught her attention, and she blinked as she recognized it. Kayalee? The tribe leader was out here, too? Curious, she followed he scent, stopping near the two felines and looking between them. Something seemed to be going on, and she wondered what it was.

Nixen did not realize he got nervous ticks around others when his left ear twitched once, twice, three times. His mirror-hashed eyes stared intently at those of the Occult female before him, and then at the Aboriginal at her side. Well, seeing as they were both felines, and the Occult had just asked him what was wrong...would it be all too bad to complain to them about his current situation? Another annoyed huff came out of his jaws as he shook out his fur for perhaps the tenth time since he met the canine. "I met this awful excuse for a creature this morning. When I was in the Orchard, she told me that I'd better move out of her way or she'd hurt me!" Nixen was seething now, so naturally he did not realize how childish that probably sounded.

Kayalee waved her tail in greeting to River as she padded towards her, then noticed the other Aboriginal's ear kept twitching, once, twice, and again. Kayalee snorted when the Aboriginal told about this rude creature. "Well that's an unkind thing to do to someone who they had never met before." She snorted, She glanced closer at the aboriginal. "She didn't hurt you, did she?" Kayalee growled, her kind, motherly instinct kicking in. She lashed her tail in annoyance. "Who was this creature?" Kayalee asked as an afterthought. "By the way, my name is Kayalee." She introduced herself to the still unknown Aboriginal.

River sat down, tail twitching as she watched the unknown feline. He seemed highly disturbed, and she hissed when she learned why. “Well, that was terribly rude of them!” Her claws flexed, digging into the ground. “Whoever it was had better be thankful I wasn’t there.” She flinched upon remembering Kayalee was present. The tribe was about peace, and she likely wouldn’t approve of her tribemate’s words. Still, though…sometimes confrontation was a necessity.
Kayalee introduced herself, and it occurred to River that she should do the same. “I’m River. Don’t suppose we can have your name? Unlike some creatures, we like to be civil when it’s possible.”

"Unkind would be a bit of an understatement," Nixen snorted out when one of the other felines (Kayalee, she said her name was?) mentioned it being unkind to say something like that to someone you just meant. "It's downright hostile." He shook out his fur again, as if trying to shake the memory off of him. It would be something he would remember for the longest times, and not very fondly, either. "And no, she did not hurt me. Just tried to rough me up a little." Nixen puffed his chest out a bit - no one could hurt him! He was a proud feline, and even if he had been hurt, he probably would not have mentioned it to Kayalee. When River mentioned the canine was lucky she wasn't there, Nixen puffed put his chest further. "She was too 'fraid of me to actually attack me, otherwise I woulda clawed her eyes out!" And then, as an afterthought, as the other names had been, the feline mentioned, "My name is Nixen. Nice to meet you." He was polite, to those who were polite to him, even when irked.

Kayalee's whiskers twitched when Nixen snorted, but otherwise ignored it. "It's lucky I wasn't here either." She meowed, not wanting to call the abomination by its gender. "Well, at least you're alright." Kayalee meowed, resisting rolling her eyes at Nixen's cockiness. "I wouldn't say she was afraid, she was probably to busy pretending to be important as a canine." Kayalee scoffed. "They do seem to think they are more important than us just because they are the larger creature, we are to smart for them though." Kayalee meowed, digging her claws into the dirt and crackling the leaves under her paws.

River snorted as the other two talked. “Don’t know what they think makes them so special. We’re the ones that can jump higher, climb trees, and dodge obstacles easily.” She stretched. “A little bit of a size difference is no big deal given what we can do that they can’t.”
When her stretch ended, she began pacing. “If they’re going to start acting like that, it’ll be trouble for all of us. We should do something to show them that we won’t stand for anything but respect.” She glanced between the other two. “Don’t suppose anyone has any ideas on what that could be?”
