The canine stared around inside of its muted greenly lit pod, wishing to be free of this prison. The canine blinked its bright red eyes and looked for an escape. The canine spied a small welt in the side of the pod. The canine shifted it's bi-colored paws and began to slash at the welt furiously. Suddenly the canine was falling, landing in a patch of squishy grass. The canine pulled itself to its paws and stared around in wonder. The canine took its first breath of cool morning air. "Who am I?" The canine asked, getting an answer almost instantly. Gwen, I am Gwen. The canine thought. "Gwen." The canine breathed, the canine loved how the name rolled of its tongue. Gwen looked around. "Where am I?" Gwen yipped staring around at three trees, one Gwen must have fallen from. "The orchard, that's where I am." Gwen breathed. "I wonder who else is here..."

In darkness, it is easy to forget; in light, it is hard to remember...
Tsukikage slipped in and out of the dewy grass that was just being lit up by the dawn. The moisture collected in the early morning passed onto her coat, dampening it, sending a slight chill through her whenever the breeze kicked up. But she paid it no mind. Her silver and black coat shimmered in the dawn light, faintly taking on the colors of the sky, pinks, reds, golds. She had no particular path in mind this morning, having roused herself early, and decided she just wanted to explore.
As she passed beneath one of the pod covered trees in the Orchard, she thought she heard a faint scratching noise from up above her. She paused and looked up curiously, ears tipped in a picture of confusion, before perking into one of determined delight. A mystery! She went up to the trunk of the tree and rearing up against it, stretched out one paw at a pod that was shaking vigorously. Before she could touch it though, it split open, spilling its contents, and occupant onto the soft ground beneath.
She watched with a grin as the canine righted... she sniffed deeply and the confused look returned. This one did not smell right. Neither male nor female, but something that was altogether different. Another mystery. While she pondered this mystery, the new canine stood, and began to acquaint itself with the new world it found itself in. She heard its voice as it spoke with stunned amazement at everything around it, then questioned as to who else might be around. Tsuki decided she was more than happy to introduce herself to this mysterious canine.
She hopped down from her spot on the trees trunk, and then bobbed her head lightly in the others direction. "Hello," she spoke softly. "I am called Tsuki." She gave the stranger a shy grin, then continued. "Might I be able to ask your name?"

Gwen stared at a bright orb in the sky which was slowly creeping over the mountains to begin its majestic reign over the morning sky. Gwen drew in a breath of shock at the pure beauty of all the colors, some of which Gwen could not name. Gwen whirled around, a comically shocked expression clouding the canine's face. Gwen stared into the multi-colored eyes of an attractive looking canine. Gwen smelled it and got a hint of something it couldn't describe. Feminine. Female. The canine got the urge to address the other canine as 'she' Gwen wondered if it was a female. "My name is Gwen." Gwen replied, cocking it's head to the side. "Tsuki is a nice name." Gwen yipped, wagging his tail.

Tsuki's own tail gave a wag as the other replied. "Gwen is a pleasant name as well," she said. Although she was terribly curious about this strangers smell, she thought that it might be rude to ask right away. 'After all, what if they do not know themselves? How difficult that could be to explain.' Instead, Tsuki sat her gaze following the others as Gwen looked all around. "Isn't it wonderful?" she asked after a while, a broad gesture of her muzzle to indicate everything in sight. "I think the first thing I remembered, is how big it all seemed. And then, when I finally left my home tree, I learned it is even bigger than I thought."
She looked back at Gwen, her two-toned eyes full of curiosity. "I also remember that everything was new and different, and it was hard at first, because I didn't really know anyone around me. Maybe it sounds strange, but I think I like helping out others. So if you have any questions, maybe I can help, if only a little?" She smiled again, and her tail wagged gently. Who knew? Maybe this strange, though very nice canine might be her newest friend?

"Thank you, Tsuki." Gwen yipped, wagging its tails again. "How did your eyes become two colors?" Gwen asked, then quickly added, with a nervous chuckle. "If you don't mind my asking of course." Gwen watched as Tsuki glanced around at their surroundings. "Everything here is amazing." Gwen sighed in happiness and laid down on his belly. "I wonder how it all came to be..." Gwen sighed in amazement. "I wonder how large this world is, does it go on forever?" Gwen wondered, cocking his head to the side. "The only question I have is how this place came to be, and how we came to be even, but I suppose you can't answer that." Gwen chuckled, with a quick wag of his multicolored tail.

Tsuki thought carefully about Gwen's question. She had never really thought about her eyes before. She knew that other canines and felines did not have two colored eyes, but it had never struck her as making her different before. Then she smiled. Different, just like Gwen was. "They've always been like that; I guess I was just created that way." She thought about asking about Gwen, but changed her mind. No, she wouldn't ask yet. She listed as Gwen expressed zher sheer awe of the world and surroundings. She nodded as the mottled canine spoke of the worlds size and wondered if it went on forever.
"I don't know about forever," Tsuki said softly, "But it sure goes on for a very long way." She laid down herself, stretching out nearby Gwen as zhe finally spoke a question, laughing as zhe did with the realization that it was not something she herself could answer. "I wonder that too, sometimes. I think that maybe if I travel enough, I might find out that answer. It's a good a reason as any to explore. And it's always fun, always a new adventure each time, learning new things every day." Her tail gave a wag of its own. Her eyes took on a serious look as she pondered her next words, but she couldn't resist a grin as she spoke.
"Maybe, you would like to join me on an adventure one of these days?" After all, exploring was more fun if you had someone to share the discoveries with.

"It must be awesome being different." Gwen yipped, not knowing that being gender less wasn't normal. "I can't to find out if it goes on forever!" Gwen yipped, puffing out its chest to appear strong and bold. "I will discover everything in the world that I can." Gwen yipped proudly, then began bouncing slightly on its paws. "An adventure? With you?" Gwen yipped, his tail wagging so hard it looked like he would take off at any moment. "I'd loooove to!" Gwen yipped, drawing out the 'o' sound in excitement. "Where should we go first though?" Gwen asked, cocking his head to the side with a still excited expression.
