((Traveling post, headed somewhere deep into the world. ^.^))
This place shouldn’t appeal to her.
It really shouldn’t.
Maybe it was the lack of water.
River wasn’t sure why, but she had felt called here. The dryness was a definite plus, she supposed, but the place looked…well…dead. Not entirely dead – she did glimpse the occasional tiny rodent, fern, or puddle. The fact remained, though, that this wasn’t an ideal place for anyone larger than a rodent. Even Ebony’s pet wouldn’t do well, here.
That didn’t change the fact that the place called to her. It was actually a little eerie.
I’m exploring. It’s not like I’m being forced to live here.
Something brushed against her paw, she she saw a rodent wander along, entirely unafraid of her. Were visitors to this land so uncommon that prey had no fear of predation?
She could fix that.
River swiped out her paw, and the rodent was quickly crushed underneath. She sniffed the corpse, and then ate it in a couple small bites. It wasn’t the tastiest thing she’d ever had, and it was far from filling. Maybe an aboriginal could fill their belly here, but it’d take more effort than it was worth for someone of her size.
What is it about this land? She looked round, wondering which direction she should go. Then, picking one at random, she set off, heading further from the tribe's territory than she'd ever been before.
