Completely up to you guys, of course, but do we wanna have endless spring/summer here or a variety of seasons and weather conditions? If we go with the latter, we can maybe have boards that are inaccessible at certain times of the year.

....that's genius, Reed XD I always determine the rp randomly in my threads, but that's so much better! ^>^

Thanks. ^.^ We'll see if the admins wanna mess with it though. I know it can be a hassle sometimes.

Because of the utopian aspect of the site, I imagined people establishing seasons for themselves. I know some sites go through a monthly cycle, however. Do you think it would be beneficial to have certain prompt threads that establish certain weather patterns and/or seasons? That way I could have multiple prompt threads reflecting a certain season, and that would perhaps catch on, though it would be informal and not mandatory to follow.

I think that us figuring out how long the seasons would be better; after all, roleplaying winter is fun for a bit, but then it gets old, etc, and having you plunging us into winter forever and ever would be boring. xD

I really like the seasons idea, but not so much the weather idea. I think weather and time of day should be appointed by the first person who posts, but seasons should be appointed by admin. I feel that it keeps a good IC continuum(sp?) going. Otherwise people are aging awkwardly and whatnot.
For prompts, I agree that having admin choosen weather would be okay, but for every day RP I believe that weather should be chosen by the RPers, not the admin.

Most sites I've seen change the season each month. That seems to work well enough.

how about the season and weather is decided by the thread maker, whatever they want? The flow of time isn't exactly consistent between threads :3

Yeah but having uniform seasons can lead to season-related events, possibly connected to the holidays IRL. XD

I like the idea of the monthly seasons, and seasonal events. x) Also, the certain boards accessible at certain times of the year idea sounds great.

I agree with Ironic; weather can make things a little difficult when the weather changes mid-way through an ic thread and what to do if/when it does can be confusing. x']
I think seasons would be awesome, however. I somehow make every single one of my posts mundaine, boring sunshine of spring/early summer unless guided by a seasonal marker of some kind xD

Maybe if we did it by when the thread starts. Like, if the site says it's a rainy autumn day, he threads started that day would be rainy autumn days, and it would stay that way until a new day in the thread while threads started the next day/week/whatever had different weather depending on what's posted.
