"If she sneezed, she'd probably send it flying," River responded. "She looks powerful enough. I wonder if we'll be that big one day. I mean, she is a canine and not a feline. There's different sizes for all species."
She listened when he answered her and nodded. "I wouldn't mind settling down if I could still explore, but the thought of being trapped in one area is...well...it's not appealing." What was the point of having a world if one couldn't see any of it?
He looked past her, and she followed his gaze. "Are we exploring once we're done eating?"
((Sorry for the length. It hits the minimum, at least. ^.^; Hard to focus today.))

Ebony chuckled. "Probably" he agreed. "And I don't know if we'll ever be that big, but I sure hope so. It looks like fun. I'd just like to figure out how she did that teleportation thingie" He paused, briefly considering trying it again, before shaking the idea off. If it didn't work before, it probably wouldn't work again now. But then again, it -would- be fun....
He nodded hastily at River's words. "Of course I wouldn't want to settle down permanently" he assured her. "It would just be nice to have a sort of home base to check in with and rest at when not exploring. Just a home, not a prison"
At River's suggestion that they go explore, Ebony flicked an ear, perking up in agreement. "Exploring would be fun!" he agreed with enthusiasm, whiskers twitching in a sudden rush of excitement. "I wonder what kinds of lands lay beyond the Orchard gates" He got to his feet, stretching lightly before straightening. "I'd be ready to go whenever you are. The world's a big place, and time is ticking~"
(No worries, Ree :3)

"I wouldn't mind teleporting..." She shrugged. "But then, I would miss out on some impressive sights, I'm sure. I wonder if there's a risk to it..." Popping out of one location and into another one had to be dangerous if handled incorrectly, right?
She nodded at his next works. "That would be nice, to have somewhere to belong but still be able to see the world. A nice, safe, nest shaped to my liking is appealing...but I have no idea where I want to make such a thing. Maybe once I've seen everything, but that'd be a challenge if the world's endless."
She purred when he wondered out loud what kinds of lands were beyond the Orchard. "Only one way to find out. I'm ready if you're sure you are."

Ebony nodded at her observation, never quite looking at it that way before. "Perhaps it is a bit dangerous" he said slowly. "But that's the point of practice, right? So that you do things correctly, and it's not dangerous anymore?" he shrugged. "I see how it can go wrong though. And you're quite right. It is nice to see the world first. I'd like to learn all about it before I go teleporting off everywhere, that's for certain" At her statement that she was ready, Ebony leaped to his paws, purring in excitement, unusual for one so quiet. "Shall we, then?" he asked, bounding towards the Orchard's gates before turning and waiting for his companion to pad after him.

River nodded. "But what happens if you screw up the first time? Or teleport inside a tree? Or...something." Maybe there were restrictions that prevented that? Well, they'd find out someday. "I want to explore everywhere I can, maybe see if I can find a group to join. It seems beneficial to be in one. I don't know if it'll be StarPack, though. Silva seemed nice, but I want to see what else is out there."
He leaped to his paws and purred, and she blinked. She hadn't expected quite that much enthusiasm, but she did welcome it. He'd need it, she assumed.
"Here goes everything." She followed as he bounded toward the gates and then started out of the territory.

Ebony nodded. "I do want to visit Silva sometime" he admitted. "But not necessarily live there. I think I might want to explore a bit, like you. I wonder how many packs are there in the world? And how did they get started?" he shook his head. "I guess it doesn't matter too much, if they're here now. But I'd sure like to know the answers to those questions one day" as they bounded towards the edge of the Orchard, he commented, in response to her first statement. "And maybe we can ask Silva about how to teleport without doing it dangerously, next we see her. I mean, I don't think she's teleported inside a tree yet or anything"
As they neared the edge of the Orchard, he slowed the stopped. Suddenly the world seemed a whole lot bigger to him, and he felt a whole lot smaller. Besides, he was exhausted from his already quite bust day. "Listen" he meowed to River, turning to her. "I think I might stay here a while longer, perhaps go relax around that Annab tree I saw earlier. Maybe we can meet up later, okay?" he pressed his muzzle to River's pelt greatfully. "But it was great meeting you, and I really hope we can meet again someday" He paused, stepping back. "Don't wait for me, I may stay a while back, but this is just a temporary goodbye, okay?"

When she was at the very edge of the orchard, she noticed she was alone. She backtracked to Ebony, and he seemed suddenly nervous. What was wrong? Then he said he was staying in the orchard. Well, that was anti-climactic. It was his choice, though. She was ready to see the world beyond, even if he wasn't ready quite yet. The world was calling to her, enticing her to explore, and she could do that alone as easily as with company.
"All right." She nodded. "Make sure we meet up later. I don't care where." She touched her muzzle to his. "It was nice meeting you, too. Don't get bored and lonely in here." She flicked her ears and spun around, bounding out of the orchard and into the world.

Ebony nodded, "Goodbye" he called, watching River's disappearing black and white coat fade away from his vision until she was too far away from site. He would miss the she-cat's company, he knew, but he was positive they'd meet again one day, if not today. Besides, he really was tired. It was with a sense of relief he finally turned away from the spot he last saw River, padding towards the Annab tree. there were strange fruits near the branches of the tree he thought he might be interested in trying. He paused a moment, glancing over his shoulder at where he had last seen River.
We'll meet again one day, I promise you, Rive
