Ebony turned to sniff at Kayalee's wounds, profession taking over for a moment as he inspected the scabs. "Soak some moss in the stream and put them on the scabs, they should soften them a bit, and they'll be less likely to crack" he advised absently, before straightening. "Species wise, though, do you have anything in mind?" he asked River, shooting Kayalee's scabs another glance before focusing back on the Occult - now Absonding female.
"Walnut would put up a bit of a fight against any crow attack, anyway" He purred, nuzzling his rat. "Fully grown, these guys are almost bigger than Ravens. She'll be a tough prey to catch" Walnut emphasized this with a loud squeal, not that she knew what was even going on. "Besides, she's too useful to my herb gathering for me to let anything happen to her~" That said, he turned back to the others and stretched, yawning. "Perhaps you could show us where the body is, and all three of us can drag it over?" Ebony suggested, tilting his head to the side. "I've been in camp most all day, and I'm looking for a bit of a walk, anyways"
He grinned at River's comment "And thank you. You've one an amazing job hunting, yourself"

"Alright, I'll try that." Kayalee meowed at Ebony, hoping his advice would work. But why wouldn't it. "Carren is a raven, not a crow." Kayalee corrected, "and these ravens apparently get large enough to probably harm or maybe kill an aboriginal." Kayalee meowed, with a worried look at Carren. "I just hope he doesn't become aggressive..." Kayalee sighed. "Don't worry about it though, I'll keep my eye on the little bugger." Kayalee laughed. "I would enjoy a walk as well, I haven't been away from camp since y injury. Kayalee meowed, wincing at her memory of when she was attacked by the buck. "It'll do me good." Kayalee assured herself.

River shrugged when Ebony asked if she had anything in mind. “Nothing’s called to me. I suspect it will, in time.” She thought for a moment. “You have a furry companion and Kayalee has a feathery one. Maybe I should look for something with scales. Not a snake, though.” She shuddered. She wasn’t afraid of snakes, necessarily, but she wasn’t fond of them. Lizards were another matter, but did those work as pets? She couldn’t be sure until she tried, but she wasn’t ready to go actively looking yet.
She shook her head at Kaalee’s worry. “He has access to food he doesn’t even have to hunt himself, and he’s got a strict but fair trainer. I think he’ll end up just fine. Like Walnut.”
Both tribe mates offered to go with her to bring the body back, and she thought on it. It was large and unwieldy, but the three of them together might be able to manage. “It’s in the savanna…I was near the lake when the fight started but we moved around a bit. Shouldn’t be too hard to find it again. Something that big will probably be left alone, too, and I haven’t seen much in the way of scavengers over there… If you two are sure you’re up for it, I’d welcome the attempt.”

Ebony nodded, gesturing who Walnut, who jumped off his shoulder and scampered off towards her nest in the medicine storage, after offering one last hiss at the raven. "Well, at least she'll defend herself" Ebony said with a shrug padding towards River "Alrightey, let's go then" He paused a moment to give his chestfur a few quick licks, straightening it out a bit. That done, he turned and began trotting towards the camp entrance, giving his herb storage one last, hesitating glance. Ever since Kayalee's accident, Ebony was always loathe to leave camp without a few herbs, just in case something might happen. But this would be a quick trip, he reminded himself. Just grab the prey and come back. Nothing bad would happen in that span, right?

Kayalee turned her head to the side. "You might be able to find a lizard, or maybe some kind of aquatic creature if you're lucky." Kayalee meowed with a shrug. Carren flapped his wings at Walnut when she hissed at him and cawed defiantly. "Hush." Kayalee hissed at her raven. Kayalee stretched her forelegs out, then her back legs, balancing her shoulders carefully so Carren wouldn't fall. "The savanna? Iv'e never traveled there before..." Kayalee mused, her ears pricking up. Kayalee began trotting in the direction which River had returned from then turned around and saw that Ebony looked rather anxious. "I don't think you'll need herbs, if that's what you're anxious about. It will be only a little while until we return." Kayalee meowed, then turned again and continued padding further from camp, Carren gripping her shoulder tightly in his curved talons.

[can we close this thread and make a new one after we get the snake? This thread is gigantic. And I only have three spots so I'm going to have to quit this one until we get the snake anyway]
