my life will be one great crescendo! The young canine was resting under the shade of a large fern. Soft breezes caught up his fur, just a few shades darker than the plains he looked out upon. His head was held high, looking for his companion. He wasn't sure when exactly he and Morse had gotten separated, but it was probably due to the excitability of both pups. Cantando supposed that was what he got for bounding off all the time without bothering to check she was still there.
He flopped down and rolled over to look at the underside of the big fern. The leaves were dark yellow, and blue spores clung to them. The canine wrinkled his nose and rolled over the rest of the way. As his belly touched the ground he yelped loudly - small prickles were digging into his skin through his fur. Cantando detangled his long legs and stood up, tucking his head down to try and get a look at what had stuck him. Slimy, prickly black leaves had affixed themselves firmly over the bottom of his ribcage, and he had no means of reaching them. He whimpered and dropped back down to roll on the soft grass, but to no avail. It looked like he was stuck - stuck, that's almost funny, he thought - until someone else came along to help.
